They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I’m not done talking yet so here’s what went down in 2024:
- Took a Vegas trip with my friends. saw my cousins and my old roommate
- Saw the Eagles 🦅❤️
- Served as co conspirator in Kaela’s birthday boat surprise for Rufus 🚤
- went to Big Bear for another great triple Pisces birthday with Julia and Clara ⛷️
- Won the Ted Pugh Poetry Award at school. They wrote the wrong last name on the certificate but it’s a family name that I readily accept. ✍️
- Saw Old 97s and went backstage at the Fonda!
- Saw Cactus Blossoms at Zebulon
- Put together my first ever LitFest in the Dena
- celebrated Davy’s graduation 👨🎓 🎉
- sprained my toe at the most inconvenient moment
- served as co conspirator to Rufus in proposing to Kaela
- celebrated lots of June birthdays
- put together my first ever Pasadena Chalk Festival
- Got closer with my coworkers, struggled in the trenches of hard manual labor
- Soaked up the sun at my parents’ remodeled pool ☀️
- Reunited with my Oklahoma family
- Saw soul legends at Fool in Love 🎶
- Hung out at the Deadbeat merch booth
- Saw Soul Coughing
- Announced the Doo Dah Queen 👑
- Became Chester Cheetah 🐆
- Helped Kaela pick a dress (NO SPOILERS)
- Healed my inner child with Jess and Valentina
- Celebrated Andrew and Amanda’s union ❤️🥰
- Hopped on a plane and executed the Pasadena Doo Dah Parade right afterward!
- Rode a motorcycle on impulse 🙈
- Committed sacrilege in Cow’s name
- Saw the Nutcracker for the first time since childhood
- Catsat the best cats (I am Nina to so many)
It’s been a doozy. And my first full year of grad school took up a lot of my time, so I relished the moments of fun, fervor, and frenzy. Thank you for being a part of it!
