‘The Boondocks’ unaired pilot episode, 2003. Series creator Aaron McGruder developed this pilot for the series in collaboration with producer Reginald Hudlin in 2003. It was supposed to be the first official episode of the series for Fox 5 however they ultimately rejected it, leading to the project’s reworking and eventual pickup by Adult Swim. Notably, the character design & animation differ significantly from later episodes, reflecting its being in its development phases at the time. For years the pilot was considered lost media, however, in 2016 series producer Carl Jones released a brief 21-second clip from the pilot on his Twitter account, proving its existence. The full pilot eventually surfaced on Youtube in February of 2024. Follow @back2ba6ix for dope stuff everyday 🎯

Rare extra footage of the viral ‘yeet’ dance meme, 2014. Update: we found the person in the video and the lady who filmed this, we even got the original video file. It is widely stated online that the subject of the video, then known as ‘Lil Meatball,’ is actually the rapper 10k.Caash however there is a bit of controversy surrounding this. Popularized in 2014, the dance went viral on the now-defunct video sharing site Vine. This version with Lil Meatball did not start the trend but was the earliest iteration to help the meme gain traction online. Follow @back2ba6ix for dope stuff everyday 🫱🏾‍🫲🏽

Skepta & Jammer BBK mellow grime remix ‘king.’ by DB, 2024. I actually did the graphic design for the cover art of the project that this is on. Mellow grime remixes, such as this one, typically involve taking classic Grime freestyles and replacing their original fast-paced beats with laid-back, soulful, & nostalgic instrumentals. These remixes often incorporate jazz, R&B, and dancehall elements and are now experiencing a resurgence in popularity, particularly on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Following in the footsteps of widely credited originator KwolleM, a handful of young producers such as Bexblu, Wilfred, oakland, DB, Awaiting Kvng, afrosurrealist, 808mystic, & more have helped to reimagine Grime’s foundational DVD and early YouTube eras and contribute to the emergence of Mellow Grime as a sub-genre. ‘Janice STFU’ by Drake, 2026. At first I thought ‘Janice STFU’ was a Soprano’s reference. Apparently Janice is a real employee at his label UMG, which he alludes to on the song. ‘Janice STFU’ is a popular song from Drake’s highly anticipated ‘ICEMAN’ album that dropped on Friday. Some fans would speculate that ‘Janice’ represents blogs, critics, and antagonistic fans or even Baby Keem’s mother who shares the first name. A more recent theory however is that ‘Janice’ refers to Janice Jose, the Head of Brand Partnerships at Universal Music Group. The Canadian rapper has had a public feud with the music label he signed to for an estimated $400 million in 2022. This comes in the wake of his beef with Kendrick Lamar, who is also signed to UMG. In 2025, Drake sued the label for releasing ‘Not Like Us,’ alleging that the song is defamatory and was promoted using illegal tactics. Follow @back2ba6ix for dope stuff everyday 🔥

Beyonce beats Kanye West nine times in a row playing Connect Four, 2009. These photos come from a 2009 MTV VMA after-party and, according to Kanye, Beyonce would beat him 9 times in a row. I found this on Kanye’s old blog yesterday while making a post about it (check it out). “When I was in Europe I would play this game for hours and hours… it helped me zone out. Everybody would get envolved... Derrick Dudley (Common’s manager) and Consequence were the best other than me... I beat Lexi… Don C beat Jay... Tony Williams beat Common... but every now and then people would speak of this legendary connect 4 champion......... BEYONCE!!! I had 2 play her!…so last night at Jay’s new 40/40 club in Las Vegas (which is sidebar, crazy big w/ 24krt gold flooring, Black Jack tables, $500 slot machines, the biggest projection screen in the universe and the best turkey burgers I’ve ever had in my life) she beat me 9 times in a row! (and I didn’t even spaz lol) here’s a photo of the only game I won!” - Kanye via KanyeUniverseCity Follow @back2ba6ix for dope stuff everyday 🎯

University of Toronto in Drake’s ‘National Treasures’ video, 2026. This is the university I went to so that’s pretty cool. The video was shot at one of the campuses we usually make fun of but it still counts, I’ll take it. The University of Toronto (UofT) is Canada’s top-ranked university and generally regarded as a top 20 or top 30 university globally. It is known for its rigorous academics as well as for its historic campus located right in the centre of Downtown Toronto. The university has a ‘tri-campus system’ with two campuses located in the suburb of Mississauga (UTM) and the east end of the city in Scarborough (UTSC), where this video was shot. The song here, ‘National Treasures,’ and this music video shot at UTSC would be streamed live on Youtube earlier this week as part of ‘ICEMAN Episode 4’ shortly before the release of the full ‘ICEMAN’ album. ‘Iceman’ is Drake’s ninth studio album, and it was released yesterday alongside his tenth and eleventh albums in ‘Maid of Honour’ and ‘Habibti.’ Follow @back2ba6ix for dope stuff everyday 🇨🇦

Drake’s ‘Iceman’ rollout 2025-2026. From a marketing perspective, this rollout really impressed me with its use of physical installations and viral marketing even tools like live streaming. I also really liked the aesthetics of the livestreams. Here is a complete timeline of events as I see it: - Late 2024: ‘Iceman’ aesthetic begins as Drake starts to use darker, ‘colder’ themes & visuals in the wake of his battle with Kendrick Lamar. - Early 2025: we begin to get early signs and cryptic messages through several Instagram accounts & appearances with popular streamers. - Late, 2025: The Toronto rapper begins to release ‘ICEMAN’ livestreams comprised of music videos & more with 2 episodes in July then 1 in September. - April 17, 2026: a huge explosion is heard in the city, rumoured to be an industrial or airport accident before being revealed as part of a video shoot. - April 21, 2026: the infamous ice block sculpture appears in Toronto and goes viral online attracting fans, content creators, & law enforcement. - May, 2026: Fans spot him at various locations, including the CN Tower, filming music videos that would end up being a part of ‘ICEMAN Episode 4.’ - May 14, 2026: The night of the album’s release, Toronto’s CN Tower is lit up in honour of the album & a firework display is staged at the nearby waterfront. - May 15, 2026: ‘ICEMAN’ is finally released. The cover features Michael Jackson’s iconic white glove, reportedly purchased for $120,000, and two more albums drop in ‘HABIBTI’ & ‘MAID OF HONOUR.’ Follow @back2ba6ix for dope stuff everyday ❄️

Trump and P. Diddy, 1998. Big 45 was outside. Yes, this is real not AI. No, it isn’t a political statement but make of it what you will lol. Donald Trump and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs would move in similar high-profile New York business and entertainment circles for years, crossing paths pretty often during the 2000’s. Trump was spotted at some of Diddy’s famous ‘White Parties,’ which were held from 1998 to 2009 and became known for their over the top luxury and insane guest lists. There are many real photos of the two together, including at the 2005 Art for Life gala in Florida, and in a 2012 interview Trump would call Diddy a ‘good friend’ and a ‘good guy.’ More recently, Diddy’s name has been tied to major federal charges including sex trafficking and racketeering (lol Trump’s too I guess), which he has denied. One lawsuit from a woman who worked at his events, Adria Sheri English, mentions meeting a number of celebrities at his parties, including Trump. It should be noted though that many guests at these large-scale events would have been unaware and uninvolved in the illicit activities described in later criminal investigations. CN Tower lit up for ‘Iceman,’ 2026. As someone who works in music marketing I think the way Drake has been using installations and experiences to market this album has been really dope, including this. I also just watched & listened to ‘Iceman Episode 4’ in one of the craziest recording studios I’ve ever been to so that was cool too. The CN Tower is Canada’s foremost national landmark and one of the tallest structures in the world. The tower is routinely lit up for special events and here we see it lit up in honour of ‘Iceman’ and Drake. ‘Iceman’ is an upcoming project by Toronto rapper Drake (dropping in like 3 minutes lol). The album is rumoured to be a triple disc containing at least 26 songs and marks his first album since the now infamous beef with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. Some notable promotional efforts for the album have included his Iceman livestream series launched in July, with the fourth episode dropping just hours ago. He would also create several viral moments with a giant ice sculpture in downtown Toronto, with fans and media outlets around the world reacting to the massive structure drawing crowds, memes, livestreams, and international headlines. ‘Bush Comparison’ graphic, 2004. This really aired on ESPN during a college game. America is a wild place bruh. During a 2004 ESPN broadcast of the BCA Classic between Reggie Bush’s USC Trojans and the Virginia Tech Hokies, the network would air a hilarious ‘Bush Comparison’ graphic we see here comparing the USC running back with then-President George W. Bush. The graphic featured side-by-side stats, contrasting the footballer’s on-field performance with the President’s political career. The now legendary Reggie Bush would prove to be one of the most exciting players in college football history, starring for USC from 2003-2005 and wining the 2005 Heisman Trophy. In 2010, he would have to forfeit his Heisman following an NCAA investigation that determined he had received ‘improper benefits.’ This was later reinstated in 2024 after changes to the Name, Image, & Likeness (NIL) rules. ‘Molly’ by Soulja Boy, 2012. I’ve been posting the other two hiphop GOAT’s (Lil B, Supa Hot Fire) so I had to drop some Soulja Boy on you guys to round out the top 3 of all time. ‘Molly’ (also known as ‘Molly With That Lean’) is a 2012 single by highly influential, trailblazing rapper Soulja Boy. The single was released under his ‘Stacks On Deck Music Group’ (SODMG) label, being produced by MallBeatz and featuring Sean Kingston throughout the music video, a close friend of his at time. The track is typical of Soulja Boy’s sound during the 2011-2018 era would he would go on a run of dropping mixtapes as his record deal would get closer to expiring and eventually lapse in 2013. Veeze meets Adam Sandler, 2024. Babyface Ray is in there too but Veeze is the GOAT and I like to keep the first line of my captions short. Looked online for more context about this but I can’t find much. It was definitely a random encounter and definitely in March of 2024 but as far as the where I can’t tell 100%. Some sources say Utah though but that feels pretty random to me. Idk what store either. Anyways lol, follow @back2ba6ix for dope stuff 🍝
