life has been life-ing very hard lately. so much more going on behind these select images but the good news is we’re here and mostly intact.
for all those who’ve been asking (thank you), Theo dodged a grim prognosis and is back at home barking at the mailman, begging for treats, and snuggling up at every opportunity. the lesson? don’t give up, keep fighting. it’s worth it.
Eliana, tomorrow you are FOUR. This past week/month has been an assault on our most precious accomplishment: our family unit. @eleanoriega and I have worked hard through lots of obstacles that’ve resulted in a little chaotic mess of perfection. Two wild monkeys, the sweetest little barking dog, and breathtaking evening, ocean light cascading across our dinner table (usually of a meal the kids are throwing on the ground.)
The last week has been a challenge - emotional and sad. We are doing everything we can to keep Theo as part of our precious family unit. Tonight, he is home so he can hopefully manage to give you some birthday kisses tomorrow, Eliana.
We want you to know how much we love you, your brother, and our dog and that we will always protect all of you as best we can, no matter what.
We are so proud of who you’ve become and who you are becoming. Happy birthday, little girl. You’ve changed our lives forever in the most magical way.
