Imagine being surrounded by some of the coolest people in Miami. That’s what Disco Domingo will feel like this upcoming Sunday. It’s been about six months since my friend Scott started a group chat dreaming of a daytime Disco party in Miami, with the same vibe of the themed parties we’ve bee throwing for ourselves for years. A dance forward party, where people can connect and make new friends on the dance floor. Dress their best, if they wish to. Play with bubble guns, shakers and cow bells. Bedazzle their faces with rhinestones. Perform a bespoke choreo. And just have fun. The dream has not only come through, we’re now heading to our fourth party. I am so inspired by my friends every single time we get together and allow ourselves to have fun without fear. 🪩

The happy place we all call Saideira. Me faltam palavras pra explicar a sorte que eu sinto de ter encontrado essa comunidade chamada Miamibloco. The place I met my inner musician. O lugar que acode a minha saudade. The place I get to hang out with some of the most wonderful people in Miami on a regular Monday. I just feel so so lucky when I am surrounded by this energy and these people. Forever grateful 💖

Atrasadas na trend, e imperfeitas na sincronia. Mas cheias de energia💥 Na nossa casa o carnaval nunca acaba. 🧞‍♀️

Happy birthday Rio! I’m not exaggerating when I say carnaval in Rio feels like a spiritual experience for me. The music. The dancing. The drums. The energy of the people. The endless freedom. Thank you so much to my incredible host and official dupla @marcelamoreira , who was kind enough to have me over! Thanks you to everyone who shared a dance and a song with me. And all my inimigos to fim gang @someofsuom @cheochico @lola_chica @amandasueroberson @lee_mango @ubirajarapotts 🥁 Berço do samba e das lindas canções que vivem na alma da gente, és o altar dos nossos corações, que cantam alegremente.

Tacos ASMR. First food stop in our Mexico trip was on point. 😋 Taco’s Leos in Puerto Morelos. I don’t have a shot of us taking a bite because I was too busy eating! 😅

2025 was also the year I picked new hobbies, and learning to play Padel was one of them. I remember watching my mom play Padel when I was a child. I would come to the club with her and run around with the kids of her friends, playing with our imagination, while my mom was in the courts. Back then, I didn’t understand why my mom enjoyed Padel so much. But now I get it. As adults, we don’t play enough. We get so focused on the grind, the bills, the responsibilities of the day-to-day. We stare at screens for way too long. And little by little, we seem to lose some of that ability to let lose and just play with our friends. Padel helped me rescue some of that. I think group sports in general can do that for adults. It gives your permission to let go of worries for a period of time and just play. Like dancing, the game teaches me to stay focus. Teaches me to use my mind in a different way. And it’s just absolutely fun to spend time with a group of friends simply hitting a ball back and forth, trying to get better at it. I also made new friendships around these courts, and started to build a community. For this year, I want more play like this.

The importance of communities cannot be overestimated, specially in these times where it feels like so much of what we value are digital spaces. But in the end, all that matters are real human connections. That’s what gives us joy, makes us happy, gives us purpose, and it’s all we will remember. And @miamibloco has truly created one of the most special communities I’ve ever been a part of. It’s hard to find words to describe how grateful and happy I feel when I’m inside this bubble. I get to connect with Brazilian culture, listen, play and dance to my favorite music, and spend time with an incredible, diverse group of kind people. I got to meet my inner musician thanks to Miamibloco. She’s still shy and a little insecure, but it’s slowly coming out of her shell. Learning this new skill has made me feel like I can do anything. Even if when I look at the videos I see everything I have to fix and improve, I still feel so proud of myself to have decided to try this out, and after one year, have been able to play in a parade for what I think was about nearly two nonstop hours holding the caixa UP! 💪🏽 I know my journey is only starting and I am not in a rush. I am forever grateful to everyone who’s been a part of this. The backbones and driving engines of this community @someofsuom and @ubirajarapotts 🌻🍺 The many mentors I had this year @aramisgfernandez @grahamvsounds @blangemusic @andresferret @downeastralexa @genepaulmusic @gaospinam @jennypcm @gotarmando @rosemaxofficial and many more. 🥁 And the many many friends I’ve made along the way. I love you all with all of my heart. ❤️ Bateria video by @oigomusic Em cima club video by @torvault
