Scenes from Sunday February 1 when hundreds of anti-ICE protesters marched from Portland City Hall to the ICE facility. Federal agents responded with huge amounts of pepper balls, tear gas, and concussion grenades.
2025-10-24 | Protests at Portland's ICE facility are heavily surveilled by federal and city cameras, but also by right- and left-wing protesters. The protest encampment has been overrun by a scrum of right-wing outside agitators livestreaming their POV to the world. Streaming numbers ranged from 1 single viewer to upwards of 13,000 people watching a single influencer.
Streamer tactics involve pushing their wayinto a crowd of anti-ICE activists until they are inevitably pushed back, then crying foul to their followers and nearby friends. Alternatively, they surround around 1 or 2 lone anti-ICE activists and shout "interview" questions at them or simply physically block them from exciting, forcing a confrontation to the delight of their audiences.
In the early morning hours of the weekend the newest Bascom arrived in the world. She's healthy and strong and obviously the cutest baby of all time. Some day we'll sing and dance and skate and play together, but first we eat, cuddle, and sleep. It's been our greatest joy so far and this is just the beginning ❤️
