I made these Dystopia planters for your plants. They are bisque fired ceramic. I slabbed it screenprinted the design in underglaze and then y¿touched up with brush. If you want to make your own that’s the sauce, very easy. If you want them to be glazed I’m willing. They are 25inx12in. They are a edition of ten and there are a few A.E. out there. Im gonna save five for the art book fairs I applied to, they will be more expensive then. If you want one of the remaining five send me a DM. $100 hand delivered local, $125 shipped. UP THE PUNKS

Opening this Saturday,Valentine’s Day in Sacramento! Hope to see some familiar faces. I know it’s far for all you city folx! So no hard feelings if you can’t make it;). It’s been really fun working with Amanda, Austin and Mel. A big thanks to the bands who are coming from all over to play the opening! A huge part of art for me is the community and collaboration that happens along the way. TY to Amanda for putting all of these words together:
Exhibit Info:
Art is made to articulate the stuff of life that cannot be said. Hell is Other Horses is a two-person exhibition of paintings and ceramics by Amanda Wong and Anson Cyr. Across the works, nature appears as both a symbol of virtue, worthy of devotion, and reverence, but is imperfectly and crudely imitated. The repeated depictions of teardrops, snakes, horses, butterflies, and melting substances function as emblems for psychological states of both anxiety and awe. Nature’s distorted representation lives within the context of our civilization that has created so much suffering everywhere.
Info on the music:
April Magazine combines the talents of a handful of Bay Area indie pop notables into a collective that releases fragile and noisy songs that land right in the sweet spot between Velvet Underground hum and Pastels warble with a heavy dose of slowcore static in the mix.

TROPICAL CITY is a San Francisco based, electronic, lo-fi, dark wave, one person project by Piper Lewine.

The word Exsanguination is defined as ‘the act of draining a person, animal, or organ of blood’. Using sonic elements of drum machines, synth, distorted guitar through pedals, and a blend of hardcore and traditional Blackfeet vocalizations. The insurrectionary industrial group aims to metabolize the bloodied forced displacement of their peoples through violent echoes and heartlike BPMs.

In 2021, I was just returning from a successful solo show in Mexico City. Around that time, I connected with a new gallery in San Francisco that was looking to host solo exhibitions. I used the momentum from my last show to secure an exhibition with them, and I was incredibly excited—after living and working as an artist in San Francisco for nearly ten years, I was finally going to have a solo show in the city.
As I began selecting work, I felt torn. I wanted to show something strong and true to my practice, but also something softer and more decorative. I kept thinking about how a band has their entire existence to work on their first album, but when the second record comes out, everyone expects it to top the first. With that mindset, I chose a familiar body of work for the show, knowing I had something much more personal already “locked and loaded”—a body of work I’d been developing over the past eight years. This felt like my second record, and instead of stressing about topping myself, I felt ready.
That’s not how things unfolded.
On my way to the framer to drop off works on paper, my scattered self left them in the Mission forever—or so it seemed. Losing those pieces was devastating for me and frustrating for the gallery, but thankfully, I had that second body of work ready to go. The show went on, and I exhibited the other paintings.
I did try to find the missing pieces. I spent two days in the Tenderloin, offering a reward and showing photos to anyone who might have seen them, with no luck. I even found myself at the front door of what is now my workplace, Hospitality House, talking with a coworker and trying to figure out what to do. I was extremely stressed—possibly manic—and yet I was treated with so much care and kindness. Looking back, that moment revealed the character of the organization and the people I now work with, even though I didn’t fully understand it at the time.
As a last-ditch effort, I posted the lost pieces on Craigslist in hopes of recovering them. Pictured here are the works that never made it back, and that no one ever got to see, along with my artist statement from 2022.
In 2021, I rode trains with Pablo through Mexico, from Ciudad Juárez to Los Mochis, Sinaloa. We spent several days traveling through the desert and the Copper Canyon, surrounded by incredible views and moments of pure synchronicity. At one point, we even ended up riding a train I had painted years earlier in Portland, Oregon.
The trip was both fun and difficult. Eventually, our train was stopped, boarded, and scanned by what I presume was a cartel organization. That journey changed the way I understood freight riding. It put me face-to-face with migrants traveling by train—and by any means possible—from southern and Central America to the U.S. Most of their routes were life-threatening, all of them dangerous as hell.
The experience permanently shifted my perspective on something that had always felt like an escape from my own life. I was forced to confront my own privilege as a gringo. I’m deeply grateful for the experience, and to Pablo—for taking me with him, sharing his knowledge, and keeping me safe.
The last slide is a quick video I made with the burner phone I was using on the trip. Thanks for looking!

In October, I worked with @Batwichghost as a featured artist for their haunted house project at @ybca It was a dream come true—I needed an environment that was more interactive and visually dynamic than anything I’d ever made before. I collaborated with a group of artists to bring this vision to life. There were holograms, audio, props—it was a huge production.
I couldn’t have done it without the whole team. I’m really proud of what we created and grateful to have been referred for this project. Thank you to everyone who came to see it. I know many of you couldn’t make it, so I’ll be posting some sections from the haunt.
These two animations represent the first and last stations in my section. For the second slide, please turn your phone. Thanks for looking.

Some shots from the last two months mostly #bts from the @batwitchghost project I did with them for the #hauntedhouse @ybca this #Halloween. The project was a dream come true.
I couldn’t have done it without a huge team of #collaborators. I’llmake a proper post soon but wanted to get something up because sooner is often later for my busy neurodivergent ass.

Anson Cyr (@b_b_press ) was introduced to us by one of our monsters. They met at the @SFartbookfair back in July. We had heard rumors of an artist who is just crazy about Halloween, so we went to find them. Turns out Anson had also heard about us and wanted to come to the Haunt last year, but he was busy with his own show at @adobebookshop . He turned it into a Spirit Halloween store. He was happy to be invited and has been enthusiastically planning and creating ever since. Shout out to Nancy Nino Feo @gluc.k , Joy Rubio @joy_murcielago_ , Apache O’Raspi @apacheoraspi , and Lauren Corden @lcor for their contributions in bringing Ansons vision to life. Oh shoot, I nearly forgot to mention Pumpkin, pictured above. Definitely has a paw in the project.
