this year has been a crazy one!!! but i had to post one more time before it was over because this year i fulfilled a dream of mine.
i can vividly remember being at the rite aid checkout with my mom, begging her to get me the “Born This Way” CD by Lady Gaga. this was my first ever CD. i was so captivated by the cover art, the beautiful booklet inside with iconic photography by nick knight, it’s simple but abrasive design. eventually i would become obsessed with pop music and the visual worlds around them. i’ve always been a collector, and my album collection is one of many, but it’s always been a dream of mine to one day be able to add something that i’ve worked on. that’s why when asked if i wanted to work on this project, i was beyond ecstatic. I can’t say thank you enough to both xiao and lesley for your mentorship and kindness throughout the process. i am so incredibly grateful. after many hours and different iterations, being able to hold it in my hands is the best feeling in the world. this project helped me gain back some confidence i had lost and reminded me that this is what i really love to do.
i feel SO honored to have been a part of this project and to have the chance to help tell cacien’s story. reading the lyrics i was so touched by her writing, songs i felt like i needed to hear. if you’re reading this, i hope you give it a chance as well! (her voice is so beautiful!!!)
