For over 30 years, our brother Ricardo — better known to so many of us as DJ Back 2 Basics — has been the heartbeat of countless celebrations, pouring love into every song he played and every crowd he touched. His gift of music has brought us together through some of the best moments of our lives.
Now, Ricardo is facing one of the biggest battles of his life: a fight against cancer. And this time, he needs us to lift him up the way he’s lifted so many of us.

It is with the most gut-wrenching sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved family anchor Ricardo “Back2Basics” Gomez. We are broken, tired and saddened. As we try to navigate the next few days with the preparations for his rites, please bear with us and give moments of grace.
There are alot of moving parts for giving Ricardo the ascension ceremony he deserves and the family is collaborating for the best way forward.
