How many are experiencing burnout right now?
Phew there’s been a lot going on this month. A new thing that happened is I won a grant from Boyd’s Mills for a whole novel workshop! The middle grade graphic novel manuscript has to be summer so ahhhh. But there are also other things going on and nothing is set in stone! A lot of grant/scholarship submissions, I applied to 18 pb rising mentors, and I’m now the illustrator coordinator for SCBWI mddewv region and I would like to really help out our illustrators with events so I’m in a learning curve. This WILL lead up to burnout if I’m not careful. This is a process account after all, so I share my process of burnout.

To note, this is the last year of the PB Rising Stars mentorship program and everyone who applied will see if they are a mentee tomorrow. I don’t know if I’ll get picked as a mentee but that decision will decide my work on this account. If I’m a mentee I’ll have to hold off further on this story development and post sparingly in collabs, challenges, and dtiys. If I’m not? I’ll be posting way more often because I’m almost done my first draft of the middle grade and I can start on diary of a human while Hello Bucket is being edited! Woo!

It’s been awhile! I took a break (scheduled 😤) from this particular account. Why did I decide to juggle all these projects? 🤔 my MG GN first draft is almost complete and I’ll know if I’m a mentee or not next week so once those two things are done it’ll free up time for this passion project.

Phew I am so tired, but I’m done the main characters! I can finally start the next step though I might miss and fall down the stairs of this particular manuscript. 😭 I HAVE A SCHEDULE AND SOMEHOW IVE MANAGED TO STUCK WITH IT?!
Anyway, here’s Chel. Mc, sees the monsters in the town that are real and made up. Which one is which? Maybe they’re all real and people are just gaslighting 😌🫠 second generation, mom joined the cult in town (NOT David’s Joy Lutheran) and her dad is usually never home. She has lots of time to draw monsters in her sketchbook. ✍️ unless Fran stops by and brings the party.

My OC Beth. She’s been around for a bit. She loves all the town’s merchandise and has many collections. Best friends with Falicia. Year book coordinator and writes the newsletter for Hound High. She has a bit of a problem switching around letters when she writes but it’s okay, Falicia helps her with her with writing… with a price sometimes of course. One Starfchain collectable. Two if Beth is being particularly lazy and not using spellcheck when she should!!
