Happy Release Day to my brothers in @streetsects . We spent two years making these two records, “Dry Drunk” & “Full Color Eclipse”, and I’m very proud of them. Our instincts were aligned, and our shared vision for these projects came naturally without a lot of second guessing.
In my mind the records are two sides of the same coin.
For all of the darkness of “Dry Drunk”, by the end of the record we are shown how much light there is inside a person who has reached their rock-bottom. The ego-death of an addict who has lost everything and is ready to surrender to their own sublimation and transfiguration holds far more humanity and angelic light than the characters who populate the world of “Full Color Eclipse”.
The bright and shining lights of “Full Color Eclipse” are just a facade. Here in the “normal” world we delude ourselves into thinking we’re high above the desperation found on “Dry Drunk. We’ve been trained to project ourselves as masters of the universe, while in reality we’re all living on the razors edge of losing everything.
Special thanks to @derekacoburn for the mix and @westwestsidemusic for the master 🙏
TL;DR - these records rule. I’m happy to finally share them.
I am totally honored to have worked on this track with the mighty @_health_ , @cchelseawwolfe , and @stint__ .
I first saw HEALTH 16 years ago at a house show in Oakland and was floored by what they were doing. I'm very happy to get to play a tiny part in their legacy.

“When you cut into the present the future leaks out” - William S. Burroughs
Our new album, She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She, feels like a rebirth. Since we started writing these songs, we've been through so many changes, small apocalypses. As time has passed so many of Chelsea's lyrics started to feel prophetic. As Chelsea has said- this record "demanded to be lived". It's an ongoing and challenging transmutation through sobriety and spirituality - tearing down facades and turning inward.
The music for this new song "Whispers In The Echo Chamber" came in late May of 2020. It was born out of the feelings of bitter frustration which come with witnessing constant imbalance and oppression (very similar to how we've all been feeling lately). It grew into a song which is an invitation to set yourself free from the weight of your past, to step into your own authenticity. Change happens first within, and then ripples outwards to the people who surround you. This disruption and transformation can act as a healing stronghold against helplessness and indifference.
I'm so grateful to be able to share this work with you all.
There are too many people to thank, but I feel so blessed to be surrounded by a group of beautiful people who worked hard to bring this album into the world.
Thank you.
"Nero" is now streaming at my Bandcamp profile. It's an original score I composed for the @neroexhibition , held at the MuA - Museo Civico di Sinnai, in Sardinia, from October 15 through November 19, 2023.
