This year, for the first time, Civic Engagement Beyond Voting is endorsing a select number of primary election candidates for the Arizona State Legislature. In selecting candidates to endorse, we put our values first, not partisan politics: we looked for candidates who display active engagement with the community, prioritize open and easy access to the ballot, espouse policies that make living and thriving affordable for all Arizonans, value strong public education, and will pursue aggressive measures to fight climate change in our vulnerable desert state.
CEBV is an Indivisible group, and this step is consistent with Indivisible’s 2026 initiative supporting congressional candidates who will commit to building a strong opposition party powered by progressive leaders who are not afraid to stand up to the regime and will fight for working people.
The candidates we selected are either running for re-election with strong progressive track records or are challenging candidates who have demonstrated that they are not up to the task of enacting policies that benefit everyday Arizonans. Most importantly, each candidate we are choosing to endorse shows a vigorous willingness to fight for the values we share. Our goal is to elect state lawmakers who will move aggressively to enact progressive goals if in the majority and will retain a strong moral compass under pressure.
After a rigorous process of vetting, we proudly and enthusiastically endorse Sen. Lauren Kuby for re-election to Senate in District 8.

Hot enough for ya, Arizona? Remember the Corporation Commission is *eliminating* sustainable energy goals for the state. We MUST elect climate change believers Ylenia Aguilar, Jonathon Hill, and Joshua Polacheck to turn the Commission around.
