Weeks posts
Institutional failure, rampant corruption and the scariest grandpa you'll ever meet...and maybe the most fun film we've covered so far. This week, the boys tackle Michael Mann's self assured directorial debut; Thief. We dive into subjects like Mann's painstaking attention to detail, James Caan's electric performance and debate the failings of the criminal justice system. We give you some ABC type information this week on Speaking Cinema. Link is in the comments.

I usually try to be funny or sardonic with these posts. But this week I can't. Because the movie is too beautiful to make fun of and the podcast too on point to be self deprecating. Link is in the bio. Do yourself a favor, watch this film. You may be overwhelmed, but you'll be happy you did.

Well, if you ever wanted to hear me have a complete emotional crisis on mic then boy do we have an episode for you this week. What was supposed to be a fun episode about a farting corpse turned into a whole discussion into the meaning of life and what it means to be a humanist. This week on Speaking Cinema, 'Swiss Army Man'. Link is in the comments.

Happy Halloween everyone! And what better way to celebrate the high holiday than by visiting beautiful Tromaville, NJ! This week, Speaking Cinema goes deep on an Indie Cinema institution, whether or not this is truly a horror film and one of the hosts does everything in their power to make this episode about Iran Contra. Link is in the comments. Very happy with how our October Horror Block turned out this year. #halloween #speakingcinemapodcast #troma

It's that time of year folks. Spooky season is upon us and we're starting our month long horror arc with John Carpenter's Halloween. Listen as the boys talk about the slasher genre, the positive side of horror fandom and just how important a film's title is. Link in the comments.

You wanna get nuts? Let's get nuts. This weeks on Speaking Cinema, we get into Pre-Code Hollywood, the birth of Exploitation Cinema and a film as shocking as it is beautiful. We're talking about one of my favorite films of all time, Tod Browning's 1932 classic 'Freaks'. Link in the comments.

This week on Speaking Cinema, something a little lighter...which happens to be a film in which everyone dies at the end. We dive into race relations in Boston, debate whether or not this film is about the rapture and Alec Baldwin's Officer Barbrady like performance. This week, Martin Scorsese's 'The Departed'. I only posted once this year so I thought I’d squeak in one more before the clock runs out. Here’s some 2024 highlights, in no particular order.

My interview with Voyage LA went live today! Thank you to @voyagelamag for the opportunity, thanks to all of the collaborators that got me to this point, and thanks to @togossandwiches for the hilariously well-placed, borderline inappropriate banner ad. You can read the full interview at the link in my bio.

Took a day to wrap my head around this whole thing because I have no words to describe the feelings right now, but oh wow am I grateful to be feeling them. Thank you to the @televisionacad Thanks to this amazing team @moderndunphy @popculturepirate @allanaharkin @cassidyrouth @danielspenser @corysbigwebsite Thank you @lauracontefilm our editor who takes our crazy stupid ideas and regularly turns them into gold. In this case, literally. All the friends and family that supported me and cheered us on throughout the process. You know who you are. Thanks to everyone else at @fullfrontalsamb , and the woman herself, Samantha Bee. It was an honor to work on her show and what a way to close it out. Also, good morning! (iykyk)
