It's been an amazing #GrowingHealthyminds Tuesday, our @tnlcommunityfund funded #Polli-patch garden is progressing nicely. Today we've started laying slabs thanks to @refugeefuturesstockton for bringing the muscle๐ช we've weeded, added compost, we've got the first of the post in for the arch which leads back into the #Wellbeinggarden and the box hedge in place. The ladies have been potting in place the tunnel (sorry no pic's ๐คฆโโ๏ธ) Julie and Audrey have started bringing the Dyer's garden under control.
To top it off the sun came out just as we were ready for a cuppa ๐ค๐๐
Thank you everyone who has been part of our day, you are all amazing ๐ฅฐ
Day 1 Mental health awareness week.
On the patch we are all about feeling and discovering the benefits of nature, and the benefits we've found can be far-reaching.
The social connection that comes through therapeutic practices, such as gardening, creative sessions, walking in natural environments, or just simply being in a natural setting are huge.
The flower patch welcomes people from a wide range of background and demographics to spend time in nature, and regardless of their diffrences they come together, sharing experiences and building relationships, but itโs not just about socialising. Nature therapy offers physical benefits too. Walking is a great way to get fit and increase your confidence as well as helping to maintain a healthy lifestyle, gardening allows participants opportunities to move, stretch, lift and bend, exercising without being aware.
Nature therapy foster a sense of purpose, hope, and achievement, often enhancing cognitive, social, and physical skills.
It serves as an accessible tool for us all, offering sensory engagement and a connection to nature and ourselves ๐ฑ

Great first session, at our @borderlands_cpp
From the Earth-Digging Deeper project. Working with multimedia artist Caroline Welch @intheboskywood . Today was an introduction to Cyanotype. Fully immersing yourself in nature through creative practices is not only good for our wellbeing, it gives you opportunity to talk and share ideas enabling you to grow your creative practice and imagination.
Despite the weather not being great, everyone was really thrilled with the results and looking forward to the next Cyanotype session in June.
There is still plenty of time to join in with this emersive arts project, next week we begin the Olfactory journey, to join us on the patch you need to book, all information can be found on our booking page
