One year down, forever to go🍾🙏🏾📸”
Reflecting on this journey, I’m reminded of John 13:7: “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” If you know how I started you’ll understand.

I am thankful for everything God has given me. I am thankful for my family, clients and all the people in my life who have helped, supported, and followed me on this journey. This feels surreal, and this is only the beginning.

Let me introduce you to Miss BSN herself 🩺🤍
This feeling is surreal. To think that this has been my dream since the 8th grade and now I’m finally here, living in my dreams and prayers. Thank you God! Thank you to my family and friends that’s supported and stayed along my side through the rigor that is nursing school.
I cannot wait to contribute to honor that is nursing.

I remember being so shy when I first joined Sisters in Medicine. From secretary, to vice president, and now graduating as president, this organization has truly shaped me into the woman I am today. The impact SIM has had on me is immeasurable. It introduced me to so many accomplished women in medicine who were willing to guide and uplift the next generation, and that inspired me to do the same for my sisters.
As President, it meant so much to help others get one step closer to their RN or MD dreams. Through Sisters in Medicine, I not only deepened my understanding of diversity in healthcare, but also recognized the importance and need for Black women like myself in medicine. More than anything, I gained a true sisterhood. I’ll always remember the laughs, the advice, the support, and the bond we shared. Thank you to all my sisters, especially my e-board, for making my presidency so fun and enjoyable.
During my time in SIM, I’ve been blessed with opportunities to grow both personally and professionally:
• Public Health Research Assistant at CUHE
• Certified Nursing Assistant
•Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant
• Certified Medical Technician
• Good Samaritan Hospital Guest Ambassador
•UMSOM Shadowing Program Participant
And next up… this M.D.
