This project pairs plant sound spectrograms with my botanical photography, turning vibration into solid mass via cyanotype sun-prints. A spectrogram is a visual representation of the frequency content of the audio signal over time. It shows how the intensity of different frequencies changes as the audio progresses. These are sun-prints. There is no perceptual delay of a shutter. So it’s not the movement of time at the time of shooting but the movement of the different uv sun rays through time.

I’m a huge music and sound FAN and I photograph sound waves in water capturing these geometrical shapes and forms that lay normally invisible that I use in my art and projects. This is SOUND MADE VISIBLE. The word or sound becomes flesh because when you hear or feel the sound, we are TOUCHED. Which is where the idea “ I WAS TOUCHED comes from.
