Happy birthday to the handsome man @yasir_mirza21 who we surprised (with a cover story for which @shaistographer deserves creative accolade and I, quite frankly, deserve an Oscar) in which @rabiabarkatulla got shat on by a pigeon which @sofiakhan75 unsuccessfully tried to clean while I finished the cake. It was all very peaks and troughs. Highlight was an impromptu dholki rendition by Shai and I, and now we would like someone to get married (or someone marry me!) so we can have a song and dance without being judged by strangers in Cutter & Squidge. @yasir_mirza21 you deserve all the cake, even though Shai and I will inevitably steal it from you.
Song in keeping with this weekendâs Bollywood bonanza which will be repeated at @tr_personal3000 in about two weeks. Watch this space.
Special thanks to the waiter who gave @shaistographer a free piece of cake who then gave it to me for my munterish niece and nephew - that is what we call love.

Three weeks of rainbows, changeable night skies, not-so changeable cows, and novel number five, THE SETTLERS is progressing. Praise be. Huge thanks to @cove_park for a beautiful residency, allowing me the space and time to unclog my brain. A special thank you to fellow residents for getting on their bikes/cars to go and get me biscuits. Even when one of them got shingles. True community living. I took a picture of the sign for the fish and chip shop in lieu of actually going there because even I wasnât going to walk almost 10 miles for that.
I will miss carrying laundry and a saucepan full of food through a field while staring out the cows to see whoâll move first.
Now excuse me while I go and recover from the culture shock of having to get the tube.

Dumped the peeps (they dumped me for the cold - losers) and am now on my own climbing rocks (I donât care if thereâs a staircase, it is still climbing) taking in views, finally noticing art in hotel rooms and seeing about 500 Buddhas at Dambullah Cave. Not pictured is a two hour tour with Dr Manjunath of a herb and spice farm in which he convinced me Western life is strife and itâs ruining our bodies. Then he sold me stuff. Hashtag capitalism.
