Freeman Dyson. I read your lectures in quantum mechanics as a child even before I understood Calculus. Your creative logic and elegant proofs transcended the forms in which they were written and lilted off the pages as an art form. You were a hero of mine, and I always told myself that one day I would meet you and we could talk about the beauty of the universe, and our resolve to make it so. I had a toy ball I lovingly named Dyson, and spent weeks daydreaming what a civilization utilizing a Dyson sphere would look like. I played the half life series only knowing that the main character was a pseudo homage to you. I am devastated that you have passed. And though you have lived a long incredible life sharing the fruits of your gifts, I wish you had stayed with us just a little longer.
