If the recent blog post I shared regarding Executive Function Impairment through and ADHD lens, had you thinking âthis sounds a lot like meâ, this is a chance to go a step further.
Iâve put together a short Executive Functions Quiz to help you reflect on how skills like planning, time management, focus and emotional regulation show up in your day-to-day life.
đ Itâs a way to notice patterns, understand where things feel easier, and where you might need more support.
Sometimes that awareness alone can be a real turning point. I hope it can help you:
â Understand why you feel overwhelmed by tasks or decisions
â Learn why you struggle to stay focused, organised, or motivated.
â Take the first step to getting the support you need.
You can take the quiz here through my bio!

Do you need a quick, in the moment technique to support you in high stress situations? Whether itâs at home or at work, interviews or public speaking - the 4-7-8 Breathing technique is my go to. đ
Itâs a fantastic tool to manage anxiety, regulate your nervous system and reduce stress AND itâs so easy to do. All it takes is:
1ď¸âŁ Exhale completely through your mouth, releasing any tension in your mind and body.
2ď¸âŁ Inhale through your nose, counting to 4, allowing the breath to fill your lungs.
3ď¸âŁ Hold your breath and count to 7, giving you a moment of stillness.
4ď¸âŁ Exhale fully through your mouth and count to 8, feel your body soften and mind quiet as you release everything.
And repeat until you feel completely calm and ready to tackle whatâs ahead - it shouldnât take more than 2 minutes.
It really has been a huge help in many situations, and once mastered. It has the power to transform your life. Itâs like a little bit of peace you can carry in your pocket at all times.
âĄď¸ Next time you feel dysregulated, anxious or stressed, why not give it a try. I hope it helps you as much as it helps me.

Itâs always an amazing feeling to read how coaching translates into day-to-day work and longer-term career growth.
đ Khadija came to coaching to better understand how ADHD was showing up in their career and to find ways to work with it, rather than against it.
Through that, theyâve been able to build practical systems to use every day, improve how they approach their work and feel more confident in themselves and their career direction.
Thank you, Khadija, for allowing me to be a part of your journey, and Iâm over the moon to see you thriving.
If youâre looking for support in your career, understanding your ADHD or building confidence in how you work, youâre very welcome to book a consultation through the link in my bio. đ

Confidence isnât the same across everything you do. You might feel fine in some situations, and then completely unsure in others, even within the same job. đ¤ˇââď¸
Thatâs usually where the frustration comes from - it doesnât feel like confidence in one thing and not in another; it feels as if you lack confidence overall.
Thatâs why I created the Wheel of Confidence for my clients.
It looks at things like:
â self-esteem (how you see yourself)
â self-worth (what you believe you deserve)
â self-trust (how much you trust your decisions)
â social and relationship confidence
â your belief in your capabilities
â how you handle pressure and setbacks
Because a lot of the time, itâs not that you lack confidence altogether, itâs that one or two areas feel harder than others, and when you can see that clearly, it becomes much easier to know where to focus.
Iâve written about this more here on my blog (which you can reach the link in my bio)âŚ
Iâm also working on something to support this further over the coming months, so stay tunedâŚ

Thereâs a concept I love from Marcus Buckingham called the Red Thread.
Itâs the idea that we all have patterns in what weâre naturally drawn to that play to our strengths, things that:
â¨Feel easier and hold our attention
â¨Motivate us and give us energy
â¨That we keep coming back to
They donât always stand out as strengths because they donât feel difficult, they just feel naturalâŚbut theyâre often where we do our best work.
đ And this theory links closely to confidence.
Confidence builds through showing up, trying new things, and building evidence over time, which is important in your career, including things like presenting or speaking up.
But where this connects to strengths is what you build around that to make taking those leaps to build confidence sustainable.
Which is by playing to your strengths in your day-to-day work, for example, how you think, solve problems and communicate, confidence overall tends to build more naturally.
This is a big part of strengths-based coaching and how I work with clients to build their confidence.
We donât just look at what theyâre doing and how to get better at certain things, but where their strengths already are, how they work best and how they can build a career around that. đ

Confidence and ADHD are often closely linked.
Now, this isnât due to a lack of ability, but to life experiences and core beliefs that lie beneath the surface.
Growing up with ADHD can come with:
đ being told to try harder
đ being labelled as lazy, distracted or not reaching your potential
đ struggling in environments that werenât set up for how they work
Did you know that children with ADHD receive 20,000 more criticisms by the age of 10 than a child without ADHD? Source: /psychiatry/article/23971/pediatrics/dont-let-adhd-crush-childrens-self-esteem
Over time, that can affect self-esteem, and it can show up at work as:
đ¸ second-guessing decisions and holding back in meetings
đ¸ overworking or people-pleasing
đ¸ feeling behind, even when theyâre not
đ¸ avoiding opportunities theyâre ready for
đ¸ never quite feeling like theyâre doing enough
Especially when workplaces havenât always understood or supported different ways of working.
So itâs not just about confidence in isolation. Itâs about understanding where that confidence has been shaped, an understanding of self and needs, and how the environment and way of working play into it.
By understanding these, confidence can and will grow over time, especially with support from employers or the right people in business.

Confidence has a bigger impact on your career than most might realise.
Not just in the big moments like interviews, presentations or public speaking, but in the day-to-day too.
It can affect:
â¨whether you speak up in meetings
â¨whether you go for opportunities
â¨how you position yourself and your work
â¨how you handle feedback or setbacks
When confidence is low, it shows up as hesitation, second-guessing yourself, holding back and playing small, even if youâre the most capable in the room.
A few things that can help:
âĄď¸ Get specific in where your confidence lies
There are some areas where we are more confident in our lives than others, so look at the areas it feels low.
âĄď¸ Track whatâs actually happening
Write down your wins, feedback, and progress so you have evidence that you are great at what you do as a reminder when confidence slips.
âĄď¸ Take small actions
Confidence builds through doing and taking action, not waiting until youâre ready, so start small and over time your confidence will increase.
And when confidence starts to improve, things can change for the better, not just in your career, but in yourself too, and it shows.
Iâll be sharing more about confidence this week, so keep your eyes peeled!

Imposter syndrome comes up a lot in career conversations with clients.
Itâs never because they arenât capable, and almost always because they donât see their capability, and lack confidence in it.
You can be doing well and progressing with great results, and still feel like youâre ânot qualified enoughâ or ânot good enoughâ compared to others, as if everyone is about to find out a truth that doesnât exist.
It can show up as:
âĄď¸ Doubting your abilities, even when things are going well
âĄď¸ Overworking or over-preparing to prove yourself
âĄď¸ Avoiding opportunities because you donât feel ready yet
âĄď¸Comparing yourself to others and coming up short
âĄď¸ Putting success down to luck, timing or other people
For a lot of neurodivergent professionals, too, this can feel even stronger - especially if youâve spent time masking or second-guessing how you show up throughout your career.
But there are a few things that can help you build confidence and challenge imposter syndrome, like:
â Keeping a record of achievements and wins (written down)
â Shifting how you see progress - instead of pass/fail, itâs all a part of learning and growing
â Question the negative thoughts when they come up
â Donât handle it alone, whether you talk to a friend, a coach, a mentor, or a peer
Confidence isnât about changing who you are; itâs all about seeing yourself through the lens of what youâre great at, the evidence you have to show that, trusting yourself and building from there.
đ If youâd like to read more about challenging imposter syndrome, you can read my previous blog here, which breaks down these tips and looks at the Chimp Paradox and quieting your inner critic - you can read it via the link in my bio.

A shoutout to the ADHD Breathwork sessions with Jax Bull (@theserenitypractice ) and @adhduk.co.uk â¨
Jax creates such a calm, supportive space and all you need to do is show up as you are and let yourself breathe.
Breathwork can be really helpful for ADHD, especially when everything feels a bit full or fast. Just taking a moment to recenter yourself can make all the difference in your day.
Her next session is on April 7th, if youâre interested - you can find out more through the link in Jaxâs bio!

I was reading about body doubling recently and how itâs being talked about more in ADHD spaces.
If you havenât heard of it, itâs basically doing a task alongside someone else, even if theyâre not directly helping; just having another person there can make it easier to start and stay focused on the task.
đ Some sources are even calling it one of the most effective productivity methods for ADHDers.
I know for me it can be a huge help, and itâs something I come back to again and again because it helps things keep moving forward in my work and my day-to-day, but itâs not my only method.
Like anything, itâs not going to work for everyone, as we all respond differently, but I would be really interested to know if this works for you, too, so I made a poll!
Iâd love to know the reason for your answer in the comments, too. âŹď¸
