Mitte April postete Palantir Technologies auf X eine 22-Punkte-Zusammenfassung des Buches ihres CEOs Alex Karp. 32 Millionen Aufrufe. Es ist das wahrscheinlich offenste Bekenntnis, das Palantir je abgelegt hat. Der Text beginnt mit einer Schuldbehauptung. Das Silicon Valley schulde dem Land, das seinen Aufstieg erst ermöglicht habe, eine moralische Rückzahlung – in Form von Rüstungssoftware. Palantir baut seit Jahren Software für das US-Militär, für ICE, für die CIA. Das Manifest sucht nun nach einer Grammatik, die das nicht mehr rechtfertigen, sondern heiligen soll. Ohne Kontrolle. For my English-speaking followers: Germany just proposed a bill giving police the power to run facial recognition across the public internet to identify suspects. No judicial oversight, no notification for those affected, no transparency. The justice minister who co-signed this is the same person who promised two months ago to stop exactly this kind of surveillance.
