Home is where the heart is. 🖤 I’ve made a home in a lot of places and in people over the years... but of course where you are can change and people are continuously changing- as they should! So no wonder I’m always feeling all kinds of shifts and waves in my heart!🙃 but this was just a reminder to myself and to whoever who needs it, DON’T NEGLECT YOURSELF. You are the main character in your life and your home is in you.

I am so glad that the Floyd family has gotten the justice they deserved. And we all know that is credited to the Floyd family, black orgs/communities, and other alliances. BE PROUD.
But of course, the work isn’t over..... Makiah Bryant was shot and killed (and I wish I could say this more lightly) by another white officer in Columbus, OH. At the same damn time of the trial!! The continuous disrespect, disregard, and lack of care for black women is too much! My heart goes out to her and her family, may she rest in power. Her life lives in the aches that we feel and in the actions we decide to take. Whatever that means to you, but it deserves a thought. So keep going — for Makiah Bryant, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Daunte Wright and too many more. 🖤
