This video is 100% AI. Oh wait, that’s actually not true.
Let me explain. I used a video AI model to animate the video. But each time we transition to a new scene, those are „real“ photos taken by me over the last couple of years in Hamburg. I had no idea back then I will use my photos for a video like this one day. The tech did not exist. It does now. I selected the pictures and set them in a specific order. Then a video AI model animated the frames between them. Yet the editing, the order, the pace settings were decisions made by me again. The music? An LLM “watched” the edit and suggested starting points for a text to audio model. But the selection, small changes and final edit is manual again.
This exploration couldn’t exist without the AI running through almost every creative layer of it. Neither would without intent and human decisions behind it.
At that point, is it an AI video? A human made video? Something in between? Does it matter?

No year in review post. But one last round of festive shots. Mostly because I still haven’t posted some of my favourite shots from 2024 and they will slide into the coming year. But also because I wanted to show you a couple of these. Most of them in the collection are older and you might know them. But three of them are new and I haven’t shared them before.
