Understanding the Mental Impact of Alcohol as a Learner. Let's talk about something serious: the mental effects of alcohol. As learners, we already face a ton of challenges, and alcohol can make things even tougher. Alcohol doesn't just affect our bodies; it impacts our minds, too. It can increase feelings of anxiety, make us feel down, and even lead to very negative thoughts. These are heavy things to deal with, especially when we're still figuring out who we are and where we fit in. But here's the thing: the choices we make now can shape our futures. By saying no to alcohol, we're taking care of our mental health and setting ourselves up for success down the road. So let's stay strong, support each other, and keep our minds clear and focused on what truly matters. Learn more> Link in bio. #NOtoUnder18 #NOtoUnderageDrinking #AwarenessMatters

Keeping Our Roads Safe: A Joint Effort with JMPD We're thrilled to share some promising news from our 2023 pilot project with the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD). Over the course of three months, our collaboration led to a significant 6% reduction in drunk driving incidents. This achievement underscores the importance of proactive enforcement and community engagement in ensuring road safety. During the pilot period, the JMPD conducted an impressive 4,848 roadblocks, demonstrating their commitment to keeping our streets safe. As we continue to work together to combat drunk driving, we urge everyone to prioritise safety on the roads. Whether you're heading home from a night out or embarking on a weekend getaway, always remember: drinking and driving don't mix. Learn more> Link in bio. #DontDrinkAndDrive #RoadSafety

As we gear up for the upcoming long weekend, let's prioritise safety on the roads. Drinking and driving don't mix – it's an unsafe choice that can have devastating consequences. Here are some tips to ensure a safe journey: 1. Plan Ahead: If you know you'll be drinking, arrange for a designated driver or alternative transportation in advance. 2. Stay Sober: Avoid consuming alcohol if you plan to drive, even if you believe it's just a small amount. 3. Designate a Sober Driver: If you're travelling with friends or family, designate a sober driver who will abstain from alcohol for the evening. Let's make responsible choices and ensure the safety of ourselves and others on the road. Together, we can make a difference! Learn more> Link in bio. #DontDrinkAndDrive #RoadSafety #AwarenessMatters

Hey learners! 📚 Feeling the pressure of upcoming tests? We get it, studying can be stressful. But here's a friendly reminder: alcohol is not the answer. Using alcohol as a crutch to cope with stress can lead to harmful habits and affect your health and academic performance. Instead, try these healthy coping strategies: - Take regular breaks: Give your brain a chance to recharge by taking breaks during study sessions. - Stay active: Exercise is a great stress reliever and can help improve focus and concentration. - Pay attention to how you feel: Take a few minutes each day to check in with yourself. Remember, you can handle stress in a healthy way without turning to alcohol. Your well-being and academic success are worth it! 💪 What are your favourite stress-busting techniques?
