I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve joined the StyleBlueprint team as Social Media Manager! As a decade-long subscriber, I couldn’t be more honored to further and expand SB’s social reach and presence. Personally, I’m excited to enter my own next chapter and combine my love of all things social media with my passion for spotlighting the people and businesses that make Nashville so magical. Cheers to a new adventure!
“Are you writing for yourself, or are you writing for the audience?” Media veterans Joe Hudak (Senior Editor, Rolling Stone) and Alison Abbey Hudak (Former Editor-in-chief, Nashville Lifestyles) join us for a raw look at the friction between artistic integrity and the “$13 barbecue sandwich”. An exploration of the tactile reality of navigating the mental split between career status and personal fulfillment.
Moving beyond industry shop-talk, we discuss the weight of burnout, the ethics of elevating artists who mismanage their influence, and the quiet courage required to walk away from a prestigious identity to rediscover the soul of the craft.

Ten years ago today I went to Brett Eldredge’s then-small, intimate IYKYK holiday party at Skull’s. I sat down next to a journalist I’d only met once in passing but I needed someone on whom to trauma dump my most recent Tinder experience, and thanks to his seat between me and the wall, this man was forced to hear all about it. He was kind and compassionate and funny and I was grateful for the listening ear. I didn’t know it at the time and it would be six months or so until we went on our first date, but that was the night I met my husband. I’ll always be grateful to @bretteldredge and that guy from Tinder for setting the wheels in motion to find the love of my life. Happy 10-year meet-iversary, Joe! I love you and I’m so glad I took that seat. (Photo cropped from a group shot at that party)
11.02.19 Six years. We’ve packed a lot of life into the past six years and I’m proud that we’re stronger than ever…and I’m so glad that you still look at me this way. I love you, husband. Forever and always.
Today marks 10 years of living in the city that quite literally changed my life. It’s wild to think that it was a decade ago that my parents, Lucy and I caravanned up from Florida (having left Atlanta for a brief hiatus) to move me to a new city for a new job. I didn’t know many people here, but that first night I ditched my parents for a Shania Twain show, made some new friends and knew things were looking Up(!). More new friends, a few jobs, a few moves, an incredible husband, a devastating loss (Lucy Goose), a joyful new addition (Irwin), a dream home, and a few thousand concerts later I’m still here. The skyline (and the IG filters) may look different than they did ten years ago, but Nashville still has my heart. Happy anniversary to me and the city that changed it all. ❤️
Come with me to celebrate the launch of the Wrangler x Made In collab. The pieces are literally *chef’s kiss* and those knives? The handles are made from real denim!
A little life update: At the end of the month I’ll be moving on from Modern Luxury Nashville. I’m so proud to have helmed the magazine’s launch (as well as that of Interiors Southeast) and can’t wait to see what the team has in store as they continue to grow and take flight. I am very, very excited about my next adventure (more on that to come) and ever grateful to the team at ML for making this past year so fulfilling. I know my Nashville sales girls will keep killing it and I’ll be cheering them on every step of the way. It’s not so long, it’s see you soon. 🤍
