Phoenix Photowalk 11/5/24 Varied selection of candid street shots from a Harman and Wex organised photowalk. Harman was providing a free roll of their new colour film and it was a nice day for it. Definitely worth the opportunity to meet some new friendly faces and put this new film through the wringer. I purposefully chose to find frames that would provide as wide an example range as possible. Hoping to find the film’s limits and maybe a potential sweet spot. Although it’s boxed as a 200iso film all shots were metered at 160, developed diy by hand and custom digitised. Results - hmmmm... Is it consistent in exposure latitude, colour accuracy (especially skin tones), saturation level, perceived sharpness, highlight recovery, negative development? - Unfortunately that’s all a hard no from me. So how’s the grain? - LOTS! It’s well noted already this film is grainy, but my days!! Did I find a sweet spot? - Not sure. Due to the film’s inherent lack of consistency I just can’t tell. And there’s no escaping that low latitude and extremely high level grain! Regardless of these points it is truly fantastic and refreshing to know this new film is a ground up work-in-progress from Harman. Not just a trendy relabelled and or repurpose use of pre-existing stock. Fingers crossed there’s further iterations in the works! Many thanks to both Harman and Wex for organising a lovely afternoon jaunt in the city. (Obligatory hashtags) #summerofpheonix #harman #harmanpheonix #Phoenix200 #harmanphoto #pheonixfilm

Scottish Skateboard Championship 24/3/24 Another amazing day at the loading bay! Massive thanks to all the organisers and many contributors. And of course a huge congratulations to everyone taking part, they really tore the park a new one!! Gutted I can’t post all the frames I took on the day. There’s definitely a few keepers for the “to print” archive. But hope you enjoy this vibes bundle. Looking forward to next year ✌️
