AUDITIONS ARE OPEN! Link in bio!
Artmageddon Theatre Collective returns with the premier of a new comedy for the @halifaxfringefestival ! Artmageddon is a theatre collective that specializes in telling stories in and about transformative times. "The Defenestration of Prague; or one of them!" is a continuation of the work we have done and our first foray into historical works that are mostly true, except when it is funny not to be!
Auditions will be held @thenestartsspace on the 21st and 22nd of May from 7pm-10pm. We welcome self-tapes as well (they are due on the 21st at midnight). We welcome everyone to audition and we thank you for your interest!
Synopsis:
The year is 1618 in Bohemia. The Czech lords have marched on Prague after an Imperial Decree threatens their sovereignty. Inside the Castle, the Emperor's ambassadors (Martiniz and Slavata) gleefully plan to receive them and tell them they are going to be executed, blessfully unaware of the danger they are in. Sadly, the Bohemian lords (The Defenders) also have no idea that their foes are woefully unprepared and fall into spirals of paranoia over nothing. Hijinks occur, resulting in battles, betrayals, dinner, shenanigans, and... window-based romance? All this and more in this historical comedy inspired by Horrible Histories and Monty Python.
Please note: this is a profit-share production, all profits from sales will be divided evenly between all team members.

I’m so ecstatic that my 48 Hour Film “The Family Business” won the award for “Best Use of Line” at the @atlanticcanada48hfp . As a film artist who has been given less opportunity to be in film the decision to make my own film was hard and easy at the same time, and to be rewarded for my and my teams hard effort feels justified and so lovely. Congrats to all the other films that were so charming and thank you!
I am planning to put the trailer and film itself on my YouTube page, see my bio for a link.

If you were hankering for more August, check out the very first video on my YouTube channel - Vanmeerkat - which introduces my challenge this year to write a huge catalog of plays! I’m excited to use this platform to track that progress and teach myself a skill set and I hope you enjoy following along!
Big shout out to YouTube for automatically placing a brightness filter on my video and washing me out completely and not letting me remove it! We are taking this thing one step at a time, folks.
