what began as a psychogeographic study in still photography has shifted, stretched, and reformed into video. for the first time, i began to work with moving image as installation. letting my projections move across mechanical and assembled domestic objects.
this piece was my entry point into video installation. a slow mutation of the photography shown in my previous post, where landscapes once frozen in silence began to breathe, shift, and speak in new ways.
it was exhibited as part of the Expanded Moving Image Practices Group Show at Paris College of Art.
this is a teaser.
i would like to especially thank collin.

lately, i have been returning to my own photographs, projecting them, rephotographing them, letting them shift and mold. memory becomes a surface. i mask light to edit.
my work has always lingered in the in-between: the relationship between place and behavior, between personal history and what a lens can capture. these images (sculptural, constructed, sometimes unstable) are my way of processing the psychogeography of movement.
of being somewhere, and then elsewhere.
as i travel through spaces that once felt permanent, i reflect on migration as something quiet but positively transient.
these photographs are a set of visual notes and proof of my process evolving. they are a foundation for future photojournalistic projects where i plan to integrate abstraction and identity more deliberately...
i would like to especially thank cazlyn.

i created a film named laquelle. that you may watch on youtube.
laquelle is about time. about how human structures outlive us, how land & sky know better, and say less. it is in black and white. half sound, half silence. i starred as a human being present and absent at once.
living in paris for two years granted me public transportation to landscapes across france. i walked them feeling i might forget them or never be there again. so I filmed them instead.
the silence in the film sharpens that truth. the sound reminds us humans are still here.
black and white erases the clocks. to let the images drift somewhere between eras.
i am using this piece as a reference for what is next.
because I need to remember these places. and how it felt to be a part of them, if only briefly.
i would like to especially thank collin.

france has a way of slowing me down just enough to see things more clearly. the way light lands on a countertop, the distance between me and the hens behind the garden wall, the quiet architecture of a meal.
for the past year, i have been photographing these small truths in black and white.
this series is called FRUS, an ongoing series that examines identity through the lens of my experience living in france. shot on Ilford HP5 PLUS and processed in a paris darkroom where i was employed, each image is a trace of where i have been and how i have been seeing.
what began as cultural observation turned inward. the series moves between domestic stillness and the strange intimacy of routines. underneath it all, i remained a woman. that truth softened the metaphors, peeled back the layers of symbol i often carry in my work.
this one is diary-like. tender. a study in migration, but also in self.
i was grateful to exhibit FRUS at Doral Contemporary Art Museum. a reminder that even the quietest projects can find resonance across borders.
more soon, on film.
i would like to especially thank lou.

for the past two years, i have been making art across cities and languages, collecting pieces of places like one collects phrases from dreams. not quite whole, but unforgettable.
i have worked with recycled glass, film photography, thread, and light. i have sewn, projected, photographed, filmed, documented, wrote, communicated, exhibited, developed and shared.
i’m still creating.
pero i have been quiet here. over the next few weeks, i would like to share more of what i have learned, where i have been, what i have created. a small archive of process and presence.
stay with me.
i would like to especially thank everyone who accompanied me in this progression.

miami swim week 2024
i checked off one of the most miami things to see, from my bucket list. with paraiso, at miami swim week 2024 i met a parade of beautiful people and obsessive creatives, each more enigmatic than the last. it was a pleasure to attend and contribute to these events. i found myself embraced by JJPR’s team, and i thank everyone who made me feel valued and included. i wish everyone success in their endeavors.
with love & curiosity,
