Honda at it’s peak right here! An OG NSX taken back home for my friends over at Source 1 Automotive.
I previously moved this NSX a while back that was unfortunately blown up from a previous shop’s malpractice. Source 1 got this thig dialed in though, and its far from stock.
-Completely built engine and heads making over 700 WHP
-Twin disc
-AEM infinity standalone
-Full fuel system running E85, Flex fuel integrated
-Science of Speed OG twin turbo kit (GT28’s)
-Wilwood complete big brake upgrade
-KW coilovers with lift pillows on all 4 corners with on board air
-Several other cosmetic bolt on’s and interior bits
The OG NSX was a “underdog” in comparison to the European (and American, if you wanted to compare it to a C4/C5 or Viper) sports cars of it’s time. The C30/32 (3.0 V6 powering these cars back then) engine was substantially underpowered compared to Ferrari, Porsche, and other rivals back in the day. In exchange for power though, Honda maximized handling and braking. These cars punched far beyond their weight class in terms of driving dynamics and capabilities. 90’s - 00’s Hondas (and Acura) will always stand as a testamate that “power isnt everything” - JDM Goats like the DC2 ITR, EK9 CTR, AP1/2 S2K, and of course, the NSX rivaled competitors with sometimes half the power. I always loved watching “Best Motoring - Hot Version” and seeing how well these cars stacked up against others of that time back in the day. One final note - take a look at the last two pictures in this post. Tell me, when’s the last time you’ve seen a ‘95 sports car with aluminum used to the extent & complexity the NSX’s were? Compare those control arms and subframes to any car of its time, and its easy to see why the NSX was ahead of its time in terms of technology and evolution. Crazy good engineering and R&D went into these cars. For humor, I’ve added a control arm from a 4th gen F body to see the difference.
Stay strong, stay you. Never give up on yourself. No matter what others might say, you are doing what’s best for you.
