Okay, I’ll admit it—I’m terrified to post this. Because it’s one thing to dream about something quietly, and another to actually do it. After 10 years of flying back and forth to Iceland—more than 50 flights, a few small trips with women I adore, and planning my own wedding here—I’ve finally decided to stop talking about it and do it.
When I talk to women across industries, ages, and seasons of life, there’s a shared truth: we’re tired. Burnt out. Moving through our days without truly being in them. Craving quiet. Craving space. Craving something different.
I am hosting a retreat in Iceland for women and non-binary folks from September 27 to October 1, 2026.
It’s happening. And honestly? It feels huge. This isn’t a retreat about productivity or performing your worth. No panels. No titles. No “so, what do you do?” small talk. We are going to explore what happens when you finally stop auditioning for your own life—and just be in it—with other women who get it.
When you’re standing in a stretch of Iceland that feels almost uninhabitable, where the wifi drops and the wind steals your words, your brain finally catches up to your body. You stop thinking about your life and start living it. That’s what presence really is—when the landscape is so vast and alive that it pulls you out of your head and back into the moment.
You’ll trade the noise of being constantly available for the sound of wind moving through moss fields. You’ll take long baths in hot natural springs, eat meals you didn’t have to plan, and maybe remember what your laugh sounds like when no one’s waiting for you to say something profound.
We’re creating space for something slower, quieter, and more real—a return to ourselves.
Before I share all the (very exciting) details, I want to hear from you. What are you craving right now?

I read this article about the power of “awe” a year ago and it has stuck with me ever since. It reminded me of the places and experiences I seek out and helped me to better understand why I’ve always been drawn to overwhelmingly beautiful places that never fail to humble me.
From the article:
“I’m not the only one who has found comfort from it (awe) in these past few tumultuous years. Indeed, awe seems to be having a moment in the spotlight. If the pre-Covid zeitgeist was about “grit” and “growth mindset,” many of us are now seeking to unclench our minds and find greater peace. And that, according to a raft of recent and upcoming books, is something awe and wonder can help with. Though many people predicted that the pandemic would end with a new Roaring Twenties of wild parties and reckless abandon, the reality has proved messier and more solemn. Humanity has a lot of loss to work through.” — Eben Harrell, via The Power of Everyday Awe
The car cannot be the endgame. Women need more than stolen minutes between obligations. That’s why we created Nowhere.
To remind women that they are allowed to do something entirely for themselves. Not squeezed in between caring, working, driving, managing, and being available to everyone else.
Join us in Iceland this September—Apply via the link in our bio.
Notes from Nowhere: We found an award winning (and very fitting) venue for ambitious women to do what they need the most: unplug.
We have a few more spots left. Apply (or re-apply) via the link in our bio 🫶🏽
I graduated into a recession.
Survived working in tech. Literally.
Navigated a global pandemic.
And somehow, against odds that statistics love to remind me were not in my favour, I built a seven-figure business as a Black woman founder.
I started Bloom on the heels of my own workplace assault and built something that has been challenging, yes, but has also kept me safe in ways I’m still learning how to explain.
Nine years ago, I planted the seeds for the life I live now.
And for a while, those seeds were planted from above my parents’ garage. I will never stop being grateful to them for giving me the space and support to build something before I knew what it would become.
I may not have made the 30 Under 30 list or built the version of success we’re so often sold.
But I built something real.
Something with heart.
Something from nothing.
And I’m really happy I did.
The one thing I’ve learned is that you can never really do anything meaningful alone. I’ve learned a lot of lessons as a leader, but the one that stands out most is that as much as I built Bloom, our success always brings me back to saying “we” more than I say “I.”
Endless gratitude to everyone who has planted seeds with us over the years and helped us grow. To the Bloom team, past and present, thank you for your commitment to bringing heart and humanity back to the world of work. To our clients, thank you for trusting us with the most important part of your business: the people stuff. And to everyone who has recommended us, shared our work, or amplified our impact, you’ve helped us in ways I’ll never fully be able to thank you for.
P.S. I wish I had more photos to share, but the funny thing about building a remote company is that so much of the real work, care, and magic happens without anyone thinking to capture it. More photos moving into this next chapter!
