Slayers
In all of Warhammer, across all of the universes Games Workshop has produced, dwarf slayers have always been my absolute favourite warriors and background - that whole idea of needing to atone for a grave dishonour by shaving their hair, dying their beards and swearing to find a mighty doom in battle in the name of Grimnir the war god is absolutely amazing.
These dwarf berserkers from @avatarsofwarphysicalforge make for superb slayers. They're a lovely plastic kit that scale well, build well and are chock full of detail.
When it came to painting them, I used my classic Old World approach of painting quickly with washes and drybrushes to create a regiment that looks uniformed and looks interesting, even when ranked up. The front rank has a little more attention than the rear ranks - time and effort invested where it matters.
I went for cool tones to reflect their frozen mountainous base-them and had fun changing the quality of snow on the bases as the ranks march over it, going from pristine white at the front to muddy and churned at the back.

Hi all. Sorry I've not been active alot. Much work stuff has invaded dwarf time. One of my greatest joys of the hobby is grabbing models from other very talented creators. There just wasn't the range available that there is now way back in the 90s when I first got into all things dwarf. This is my first @avatarsofwarphysicalforge dwarf and it certainly won't be the last. Absolutely one of the best models to work on with tuns of detail and character. I keep going back to it to see what I've missed/can improve but its just about there. (I hope they don't mind my attempt at a green stuff moustache. I'm a full beard kinda guy) He will certainly come in handy as with how things are in the old world at the moment, to make dwarfs competitive you need sappers. So my plans are for this guy to be a thorn in the enemies side with his shooting and ability to disrupt things nicely with his hostile terrain and dig in rules. Cheers all 🍻
