A big loss this week in the passing of glitch pioneer Yasunao Tone at age 90. Tone's experiments shaped generations of artists working across disciplines. AvanTokyo was honored to present his work with ISSUE Project Room in 2023 in the form of AI Deviation, which continued Tone's lifelong inquiry into glitch, chance, and the politics of noise.
