Trained as an Air Gunner and Wireless Operator in the RAF, my great grandad carried out over 30 missions in WW2. He visited Hiroshima just weeks after the US dropped the first atomic bomb, he’s survived two crash landings and even worked as a toolmaker up to his 90s.
