We are celebrating a huge milestone! For 4 years, our Australia Youth Film Festival (AUYFF) and New Zealand Youth Film Festival (NZYFF) programs have been on a mission to amplify the voices of the next generation of creators. Looking back at the impact so far: * 📽️ 3,100+ entries from talented youth and students across ANZ. * 🏆 $100,000+ in cash, in-kind awards, and life-changing career pathways delivered. * 🎬 World-class mentorship with the creators behind Avatar, The Lord of the Rings, Play School, Shortland Street, and daily TV news. * 🎙️ National headlines across radio, TV, and print, putting youth stories center stage. From regional towns to major cities, you’ve shown us that the future of screen and media is bright, bold, and diverse. Thank you to our incredible partners, mentors, and - most importantly - the creators who trust us with their stories. 🚀

All this talk about How to Summon a Demon would be incomplete without @auyffest 2024! A year late but this still deserved a post 💘 HTSD was selected by Australia Youth Film Festival Presented By UTS to be among the 29 finalist films out of 733 entries from all over Australia! We had the absolute honour to be nominated as 1 out of 5 in the Best Cinematography category by Canon @canonanz 🤯 My amazing cinematographer Sakina, actor Jake and I went to Sydney (before I moved here, aha!) from Adelaide to attend the events. We were invited to University of Technology Sydney to attend a nominee-exclusive Industry Day and Awards Night. Industry Day included getting a guided tour of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Studios and University of Technology Sydney facilities, talks by Canon Australia and Blackmagic Design and a panel by Screen Australia, Screen NSW and AFCI | Association of Film Commissioners International. We had such a fun time networking with the best of Australia's emerging filmmakers and hearing from incredible speakers. Still so grateful to AUYFF for this opportunity, and for their support beyond it (including mentoring by Canon representatives and free creative software!)
