If you have not heard of SafeHarbor before, SafeHarbor is an organization who supports survivors of human trafficking, sexual, and domestic violence. It offers safe shelters, counseling, childrenβs services, outreach, education, and so much more!
@safeharborrva is teaming up with #rvasalons seeking donations of hair care and hygiene products.
For the month of May, we are building a stock of items needed to build the kits (list of products on the 2nd slide). Whether the products are purchased via the Amazon registry (which will be provided in our bio), the QR code (3rd slide), or products brought to our Dropbox that will be at the salon.
At the end of May, we will be putting these kits together, for the women and children who enter safe Harbor.
Safe Harbor also has a website where you can donate and volunteer.
π May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The state of oneβs mental health is very important for oneβs wellbeing and day to day life. Finding fun little activities to do can help, and when doing said activities can work as a neurochemical medicine (aka triggers happy chemicals in the brain). There are many fun and relaxing activities to do to help your mental health such as; biking, cooking, going out on a nature walk, play a comfort game, being around close friends, etc etc. If it comforts you and soothes your mental state, DO IT!! Do what makes you feel happy, brings comfort, and safe, because you and your mental health matters.π
