I didnât end up doing a blood chapter for Replaceable You, but at one point I looked into animal blood transfusion. Visited the dog blood bank at UC Davis vet school. Dog owners can volunteer their pets to donate periodically, so blood is available for other dogs having surgeries. This handsome donor was very calm, didnât seem to mind any part of it. His name is Deacon, and it was his 24th donation.

In anticipation of her book tour, she went through a procedure that implanted a head follicle onto her calf. But things didn't go as planned.
