Oatmeal is an active, intelligent dog who likes exercise, hikes, and mental stimulation — and he loves puzzles. Seriously. Give him something to figure out and he’s in his element.
He’s about a year and a half, 45 pounds, healthy, and social. We think he’s a staffy/cattle dog mix. The kids in the hood call him Bluey.
On walks, Oatmeal is a neighborhood crossing guard. 🚸🐶 He will proudly sit at stop signs like he’s making sure everyone follows the rules. He wants to say hi to every dog he sees and as a cattle dog sometimes says hi loudly, but he’s getting better everyday.
He’s thoughtful and respectful. He waits before eating, won’t steal another dog’s food, knows his commands (sit, stay, come, shake, leave it etc), and learns fast. You can touch him while he’s eating, and yes, you can even take a bone from him without drama.
Oatmeal does best with structure. A bed. A blanket. A spot that’s his. He likes his crate. He’s not looking to lounge all day he’s looking for a partner who enjoys movement, engagement, and a dog with opinions. But when he cuddles he crashes.
He likes other dogs and is learning a ton of good manners from
@pretty_puka . He can play calm or rough, but he will talk during play. Oatmeal has thoughts. And he shares them.
