With the support of ReFocus Austria, the Austrian Embassy London and @meisterstrasse are delighted to present a new international showcase for craftmanship as part of @londoncraftweek which is open over the weekend! 🎉
You can visit the Austrian Embassy to see the Meisterstrasse exhibition which brings together around 20 outstanding makers from 15 May to 17 May between 11am and 6pm. From interior design and architecture, to fine jewellery and customised fragrances, this exhibition offers a rich and diverse insight into both traditional and contemporary craftsmanship.

This year, the 70th Eurovision Song Contest is being held in Vienna, and to get everyone in the ESC spirit, we have put together a list of 70 Austrian songs for 70 years of ESC! 🇦🇹
From iconic classics to modern favourites, this playlist is a love letter to Austria’s musical heritage, and will introduce you to something new, whether you’re already a veteran of Austropop, or a new fan of the Tanzschein dance!

To mark the occasion, we were delighted to hold a stand at the EU Delegation’s “Visit Europe in One Day” celebration this week. Over 500 visitors explored an interactive showcase of cultures, languages, tourism and traditions from across the EU.
We spoke with guests about what makes Austria unique, such as our cuisine, and Embassy chef Franz kindly provided some tasters! Visitors could play a quiz about Austria to win prizes, and learn more about our presence in the UK through institutions like the Embassy and consulate, the Austrian Cultural Forum @acf_london , the Tourism Board @visitaustria and our Trade Delegation.
Europe Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate European values and achievements together, but it is also a call of action to protect the promise of diversity, freedom, and democracy that Europe offers!

Accompanied by Ambassador Bernhard Wrabetz and Austrian Trade Commissioner Michael Müller, a delegation from Upper Austria’s regional government, OÖ Nachrichten and Volksbank Oberösterreich went to find out 🇦🇹🇬🇧
Honoured to be welcomed by Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, they learned about how the city became the modern metropole it is today. The delegation also met Honorary Consul Harald Löffler, who noted the similarities between Manchester and Linz, two industrial cities undergoing change. Mr. Burnham even pointed out how England could learn from Austria’s progressive housing policies!

Last week, Ambassador Bernhard Wrabetz awarded Dr. Andreas Lintl with the Decoration of Honour in Gold for Services to the Republic of Austria.
Dr. Lintl is a lawyer practising in Vienna and London and has been our trusted legal counsel since 1995, advising the embassy and providing many Austrians with legal support and guidance for 20 years.
We would like to thank Dr. Lintl for his dedicated work and continued support.
