Join Artist Austin Scott, artist volunteers and community leaders on Sunday, May 31 from 4-6pm as the LARGEST mural in Altadena is officially unveiled and dedicated! Almost 1000 man hours were put into this massive 86’x9’ painting by Austin and over 80 community volunteers, over the course of 36 consecutive days. A true feat. Come celebrate this milestone moment with neighbors and friends as we honor Altadena’s resilience and welcome the next wave of beautification, culture, and public art. Hear from local dignitaries and enjoy displays from Altadena Heritage, Altadena Historical Society, and Friends of Eaton Canyon, light bites, refreshments, music, and community connection. We hit the ACE Edwards last night 🎞️ ✂️ For anyone who doesn’t know the @acefilmeditors Eddie Awards are the Oscars for the Editors. The absolute best of the best, cream of the crop, top of the top echelon of film editor royalty gathers once a year to celebrate the best of the best of the craft, and those who attend are either very gifted, very rich, or both 🙌 It was such a blast getting dressed up fancy, toastin with my babe, celebrating our colleagues, and giving standing ovations to living legends. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to ACE and to those involved for the piece on the fires - @sabrinaplisco for organizing, @mikfliks for inviting me to walk with ACE through Jane’s Village, and to Sharidan Sotelo, ACE for editing this moving short film “I Miss” about what we most miss in our communities of Altadena and the Palisades. It was deeply moving and meant the world to us. For my mentors and my idols to see me - many for the first time - not for what I have cut or how high profile my credits are, but for who I am as a human… a moment from my authentic state, doing art in a community I love… and with my wife sitting next to me, I got really emotional. After 20 years in this business, and all of the ups and downs, especially the last few years… Christopher Guest and Ang Lee have seen my art now 😱 Congratulations to every nominee and winner, you all are so amazing and inspiring. I love my ACE friends, thank you for being my role models. Big thank you to Nate Pellettieri for letting me hold that gargantuan statue, and huge congrats to you and David on the first-ever Eddie win for South Park, quite possibly the funniest show of all time. Massively deserved, my friends.

Four years ago I was made the happiest man alive, in a tiny town 45 minutes north of Zihuatanejo called Troncones. Happy 4 year anniversary to my beautiful wife, who only gets more beautiful by the day ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day, to all the amazing moms - I know I have one :) and my sister, and all of our bad ass mom friends, bc there are so many. But especially to my wife ❤️ It has been the literal joy of my life watching you become a mom. From taking on the monumentally difficult job of becoming a stepmom… leading each step of the way with class, walking the fine lines that you only know if you are one. Loving my babies like they are her own. And then becoming a bio-mom… not once but twice. Being able to love each other at our lowest, and highest moments we’ve ever experienced in this life. In those moments I truly feel the most infinite, abundant love between us. Raising this baby hasn’t been easy, with two olders, a doggo and a kitty, major life transitions to licensed therapist and artist, juggling everything while the world burns… but the fact we are doing it together, helping each other, putting our all into it while cultivating a beautiful family and life… every second of difficulty is worth it. This woman is the divine feminine incarnate from the past, present, and future, born into this world to become the physical embodiment of warmth and love. They can’t knock down the @eliotartsmagnet tower. Besides the danger of creating a massive cloud of potentially toxic dust in a neighborhood in recovery, this tower is, in the words of @authenticvkk “the compass of Altadena”. It is historic, it is an architectural landmark, and it deserves to stay. As soon as I heard they were planning on demolishing, and Claire at @altadenaheritage got in touch, my boots hit the ground. AKA… my stylus pen furiously scribbling on my iPad. Came up with this quickly, incorporating the art deco vibes into the styling. With Heritage’s direction, included the architects and the year it was built. “A masterpiece of art deco”.. Buttons, pins, shirts coming? I’m not sure, but happy to have been called to jump on this. We need to save this tower. Sign the petition in my bio. But also - who knows what petitions do.
