For the past 6 months I’ve been haunted by the images and footage coming out of Gaza. As I carry my 6 year old son to his bedroom I am struck with hopelessness and guilt as he is only sleeping and he is well fed, is safe and cared for. I think of the parents that are carrying the lifeless bodies of their precious children with no one to help them and with nowhere to go. I am haunted by the children crying out for their dead parents and siblings, wishing - between wails - they had died alongside them.
Rania - the woman who had waited 11 years to become a mother only to have her 5 month old twins (and husband) killed by Israel before they could say the word ‘mama’ to her. After years of yearning to become a parent myself - my children are here, tucked safely in their beds. In my enormous privilege I feel my debt. So I want to urge parents from around the world to come together in solidarity against genocide. There are millions of people taking to the streets demanding a Free Palestine but we must continue to grow, in the streets and in our own homes. We must do everything in our power, as parents and allies, to take a stand against this madness.

og ennfremur frá mínum dýpstu hjartarótum sendi ég hjartans þakkir til listamannanna sem gáfu þessi fallegu verk í þetta þarfa verkefni.
