We made an easy step by step visual for the Labor government to remind it why we must tax Big Gas. Thanks for your artistry @jessharwoodart Big Gas can buy time with our Prime Minister but we can use people power to send a powerful message. Tag @alboMP and demand a gas exports tax, now.

I’m joining calls for a 25% gas exports tax in this year’s Federal budget. The extraction of gas hurts Country twice over. First, when it’s taken from our lands, and twice when gas pollution heats our atmosphere making the climate crisis worse. A 25% gas exports tax would generate more than $17B a year. Just imagine the difference that cash could make to people doing it tough right now. We need to protect this country! #climatechange #environment #climatecrisis #fossilfuels #protecttheplanet

Yo @albo , you should tax Big Gas. 90% of Western Australia's gas is exported overseas... and no matter where in the world it is burnt, the pollution returns home exacerbating heatwaves, fires, floods. The government can reign in the greed of the gas giants – a 25% tax on gas exports can pull back billions of dollars, and puts it towards our cost-of-living crisis. You tell 'em. @ausconservation 's National Climate Policy Adviser, Annika Reynolds, was in the federal budget lockup last night, where they heard first-hand that there will be no new tax on Australian gas exports and at least 7 times more will be spent on damaging climate and nature than protecting it! This was a choice. Time and time again, the federal government favour the fossil fuel industry over the Australian people and our precious planet. We deserve better.

You guessed it, no new tax on Australian gas exports and at least 7 times more spent on damaging climate and nature than protecting it in this year’s Federal budget 😮‍💨🫠 This is our Federal government making a clear choice and that’s using our public money for fossil fuel subsidies to line the pockets of coal, oil and gas giants. While there are some modest measures for climate and nature protection, like $7.2bn to continue the Cheaper Home Batteries program and $500m for the Active Transport Fund we can all go to bed knowing Big Coal and Big Gas executives will sleep easier than the rest of us because big subsidies like the $46.2bn Fuel Tax credit scheme and $1.9bn for the Middle Arm gas precinct will continue. And on that note, goodnight. (We will have more analysis out tomorrow)

Hungry Jacks is currently the only big beef buyer in Australia yet to make a commitment to stop selling beef linked to deforestation 😡 Every year, hundreds of thousands of forests and woodlands are bulldozed to make room to produce more beef- places that are home to the koala and other endangered species. Most farmers in Australia know that working with, not against, nature is the best path forward. And it is possible! We've already seen Coles, Woolies, Aldi and McDonald's commit to keeping supply chains clear of deforestation after pressure from customers and community groups. We know Hungry Jack's can do the same, and stop turning a blind eye! Are you angry too? Help us send the message by tagging @hungryjacksau in the comments, and we'll send you our open letter to sign!

The community campaign to get a Gas Exports tax is having major cut through! 💪 Every announcement in tomorrow night's Federal budget is a choice. PM @albomp and Treasurer @jimchalmers have a choice to collect an extra $17B in revenue by slapping a 25% tax on all Australian gas exports and putting that money back into real cost of living relief. Everything is a choice - and the people have spoken loudly. Tax Big Gas billionaires.

Tax gas, not beer 🍺 Aussies are paying more tax on pints than gas companies are on exports… wtf??? I’m at the Bob Hawke Leisure Centre today in Albo’s electorate to put my voice to the Tax Gas Not Beer campaign and urge our Government to help Aussies out in this financial crisis by finally making the gas giants pay proper tax. Join in today by going to your local pub, taking a snap of yourself with a beer and tagging @albomp ! #TaxGasNotBeer
