Hello! @arcanepunk_ album Insubordinate Entities is now available on streaming platforms, except spotify. You can also support us by purchasing digital album on Bandcamp this friday, when all the revenue goes to the artists. Thank you!
Hey,
Here is a short film / music video for ensemble Arcanepunk’s piece Opening, from the recently released album Insubordinate Entities. It is primarily a collaboration - I had the pleasure to work with Odacy Oliveira - Manauara dancer / performance artist based in São Paulo, as well as Flavia Huarachi - Bolivian artist based in Copenhagen.
Full video link in bio!
Opening is a piece about claiming back individual and collective identities that get lost in the shadow of capitalism, colonialism, ongoing genocides and general human alienation.
The video was filmed from 3AM, while the sun was rising in Praia Vermelha in Rio de Janeiro. Quite symbolically Praia Vermelha is owned by the Brazilian military, the land was privatized in 1976 during the violent dictatorship and is still owned by them centuries after. Today the Brazilian military has very little trust from communities in Rio de Janeiro because of their excessive use of authority and deadly violence. Filming there, together with Odacy, felt like claiming Praia Verlmelha at least for a short moment.
I hope that by bringing up the memory of certain events and places, we can look back at the past and draw parallels to the present day, where history is repeating itself.
Big big thank you and much love to everyone involved in the making of this film:
ODACY OLIVEIRA - movement
FLAVIA HUARACHI - voice
RODRIGO GIRAFA - production coordinator
MICHAŁ J. BIEL - mixing, mastering
Music by ensemble Arcanepunk:
LUKA ZABRIC - saxophone
MICHAELA TURCEROVÁ - bass clarinet
TOMÁS GUBBINS - electric guitar
SIMON ALBERTSEN - drums, electronics
AURELIJUS UŽAMECKIS - bass, electronics
Project was funded by Lithuanian Council for Culture
Made this music and this video to celebrate the begining of spring.
With all the living things slowly coming back outside (at least in this hemisphere) I want to invite everyone to appreciate life more. I can’t believe I need to say this, but life is way more valuable than death, though many of us seem to be so obsesed with and desesitized from the later. I hope the empires and the billionares soon fall and there’s less of evil and death, but these things are also a symptom of our own illnesses. Illnesses that come from alienation from life. We need to stay loving and caring to life, each other and everything in it. Let’s not give in to this “end of the world” bullshit narrative yet, which only makes us feel powerless against what we need to fight resist now.
While having a break from concerts and being a bit sick, I got time to dive into some old film photos I’ve taken in Copenhagen.
Here, I took a walk and used yashica lm44 alongside an expired b&w film that later developed myself for the first time (you can tell).
In the first photo - a classic statue of a conquest-type dude with an inscription in danish: “You wonder there, you pause at this point to remember them”. As well as “Stop fossil” banner from a protest that accidentally got double exposed at some point. Also a third exposure of who knows what.
I thought I’d share this before it get’s lost in the digital clutter.
Sharing some news here!
This Thursday @crrnt_collective will host a night in Copenhagen’s Alice, with three great acts: avant-folk band Širom, Undercurrent septet and turntable artist Mariam Rezaei! Also artist talk by Mariam on friday the 13th. Come along!
On another note, back in my hometown Kaunas we’re working on a new space for @emma_social_center . We are breaking down walls, drilling, cleaning and doing all kinds of work to later be able to nurture community, host events, talks, screenings and much more. But we do things DIY and need your help, so please support here - /fundraising/emma-issikrausto-emma-is-moving-out (if you can’t open the link, i also put it in bio)
Thank you and see you out there!

Coherence, Improvisation, Perseverance and Creation
Musicians and other performing artists are invited to explore new ways of expression through a creative workshop conducted by musician, composer and teacher Aurelijus Užameckis. Designed for both beginners and professionals, the workshop focuses on
uncovering individual and collective improvisational expressions, andnding coherence between the performer and the performance, through exploration of the unconscious. We, as artists, often get stuck in our old habits and knowledge. This is an invitation to step away from these habits and learn something new. Participants will engage in exercises involving writing, painting, and performing and will work on creating improvisational and composed pieces as a result. Workshop participants will deepen their relationship to their expression, achieve a deeper cognition of emotion and intention in their work and learn to use craft and skills as a tool of transformation for personal and collective voice.
WHO CAN JOIN
Adult performance artists of any discipline and any genre, who are interested in improvisation and learning something new!
IMPORTANT
If you play an instrument, you should bring it! If you have any other needs (technical or other) feel free to reach out and ask.
______Free entrance
Organised in collaboration with KoncertKirken.
