adidas Y-3 _ MEGABALL - This project started from a tension : "How to make something loud, yet soft at the same time" We pushed the Y-3 identity to an almost exaggerated scale, probably the boldest expression we have ever placed on a shoe, but balanced it with a molded, soft-touch premium leather to keep the feeling controlled, almost quiet. and yes, there’s a clear nod to the adidas Equipment line from the 2000's. As a base, we used the EQT Top Ten, keeping its original lines on the medial side, while the lateral was reworked : simplified, softened, almost erased in parts. > A way to hold onto the past with one hand, and redraw it with the other, less, but more intentional. - 2, 3 & 5th slides are from pictures found online.
