Taiwanese opera originates from Yilan county. To pay tribute to the origin of Koa-A-Hi, we introduce a special accord that brings together some of Yilan's specialties. Tongue-shaped pastry lends a baked note while peanut brittle adds a nutty twist. Muscatel black tea brings out a dark, tannic, but at the same time, floral and honeyed tea note. Chin-Hsuan oolong adds a milky and floral, slightly green and astringent tea note to the composition. Overall, KOA-A-HI is not artificially sweetened and it is not a straightforward gourmand at all. In fact, these specialties lend an intriguing layer of notes that effectively blends in the other raw materials and contribute to so much richness and depth. What is a Koa-A-Hi? There are many forms the Taiwanese operas can take. There are indoor performances in theatres, there are also filmed performances like movies or TV dramas. But most often, the most engaging form of the opera performances take place at the outdoor space in Taiwan's temple courtyard. During some of the Taiwanese folk religion's festivals, a temporary stage will be set at the temple courtyard. Performances can go on from daytime till night time. Performers will wear traditional opera costumes and theatrical makeup, a way to assist the performers and the audience to immerse themselves in the characters. In this scent composition, we build our own theatrical makeup accord based on real orris butter, natural tonka bean, amber, musk, ambergris as well as the natural osmanthus flower extract for a distinct Taiwanese / East-Asian influence. On and around the stage, illuminations will be set up for a better viewing experience. We capture the atmospheric scent of these heated light bulbs and turn this into one of the most interesting twists in the composition. Immersive, atmospheric and poetic. Breaking down the scent structure of KOA-A-HI. One of the most interesting features of this scent composition is the recreation of the olfactory aura of Taiwanese temple grounds. Introducing KOA-A-HI, our latest one-of-a-kind original scent composition inspired by Taiwanese opera. #auphorie #auphorieperfumes #koaahi #auphoriekoaahi #artisanalperfume ... ... 《歌仔戲》以氣味為敘事之線，以多重視角緩緩展開，向這門獨具韻味的傳統藝術致以細膩而深情的致敬。整件作品圍繞“場景、記憶與文化意像”的交織推進，將嗅覺轉化為承載時間與情感的媒介，構築出層次豐盈、意境連貫的歌仔戲主題敘事。溯源其發端，我們以台灣宜蘭為靈感原點，擷取在地元素作為創作核心之一，使地域文化與感官經驗彼此交融。宜蘭牛舌餅與古早花生酥糖的溫潤甜香，交織蜜香紅茶與金萱烏龍茶的清雅茶韻，共同鋪陳出一層溫暖而含蓄的氣味底色。既是新鮮出爐時的氤氳熱氣，也是舊日時光中樸素而親切的日常氣息，在不經意間悄然彌漫。循著這層氣味的引導，一幅廟埕戲台前人聲鼎沸的畫面徐徐展開。熱氣騰騰的點心香氣彌漫空氣，茶香氤氳其間，人群聚集，帷幕將啟，對歌仔戲登場的期待，已在心頭悄然漲滿，幾欲溢出。作品借由這段嗅覺記憶的刻畫，將人們牽引入一段既鮮活又帶有淡淡懷舊濾鏡的時光，使歌仔戲不再僅屬於舞台，而成為一段可以被“聞見”的記憶。 與此同時，作品也回溯了歌仔戲最初的形態“落地掃”，以氣味重構其扎根民間的原初生命力。茄苳樹及其周遭環境的氣息被納入創作脈絡，以此致敬員山結頭份大樹公作為歌仔戲起源地的所在。在這段氣味書寫之中，大樹公下的時光被溫柔封存。清風掠過茄苳枝葉的清新氣息，與微濕土壤的質地相互交融，空氣中彌漫著柔潤的水汽。陽光傾灑其間，地面緩緩蒸騰起帶著溫度的氣息，細微而真實。這些轉瞬即逝的感官片段，經由凝煉與轉譯，被悉數收攏於香氛作品之中，成為可被反復喚起的時間切片。 作品亦從觀眾的視角出發，延展其感知維度。廟埕看戲的片刻，未待開場，不遠處田野的稻花清香已隨風而至，夾雜著泥土與稻稈的氣息，寧靜而悠遠。榕樹蔭下，人群或坐或立，微風穿行其間，將田野的呼吸引入人聲與鑼鼓交織的空間。而人群肌膚間隱隱蒸騰的熱氣，也在空氣中輕輕彌散，與周遭氣息交融，悄然烘托出廟埕獨有的溫度與生氣。這一縷縷的氣味，既屬於鄉野自然，也屬於廟埕文化，清新之中帶著生活氣息，真誠且深具情感。 至此，敘事的視角悄然轉向台上。廟埕臨時搭起的戲台之上，角兒們已然粉墨登場，衣袂翻飛，身段與唱腔在燈光下層層展開。高懸其上的一排燈泡，長時間炙熱所散發出的微焦氣息，與胭脂水粉的粉潤甜香彼此交融，凝成一層獨屬於戲台的氣味光暈。那是溫熱、濃郁，並隱隱帶著舊時舞台的質感與溫度。這一層氣味，與台下的茶香、點心香與田野氣息遙相呼應，形成鮮明而和諧的對照。台上，是光與熱交織的表演現場；台下，是人群與日常聚集的生活場域。兩者在氣味中彼此貫通，使《歌仔戲》不再停留於單一視角，而是在台上與台下之間往返流轉，完成一場關於表演與生活、幻像與真實的雙重敘事。最終，這些層層遞進的氣味意像，使《歌仔戲》既呈現舞台之上的繁華與張力，也回歸其落地而生的質樸本源。它游走在戲台與土地之間，在樹影與人群之間，在記憶與當下之間，凝結為一段可被氣味喚醒的、極具特色的台灣文化體驗。
