Last summer we visited @cortedellamaesta_italy exactly 10 years to the day after our first visit. The first time they were just starting out, by this visit they had earned three Michelin keys. When we got married we were legally required to spend a certain amount of time in Italy before the wedding and visited here and @hotelilpellicano You wanted to recreate the photos because the sun was setting in the same place and this time a little man was interrupting the moment. I love his intrusions because his presence makes everything richer. We’ve still managed to travel around because you have unstoppable energy and passion and drive. Everything is just better and funnier and more tiring now. Everything expands because of you. Seeing you as a mother expanded my heart. Happy Mother’s Day @iamaly
I owe a lot to the two people in the first image. @marielouisescio & @r.scio who brought the best hotel in the world through the past several decades @hotelilpellicano - and have welcomed us since we met ten years ago to the day of these photos. They’ve always believed in me and have given me so many opportunities and introduced us to so many people. They’ve also created an atmosphere there unlike anywhere else. And it has a lot to do with the people one encounters when staying, like @federicomorosi - Late to post about the hotel’s 60th and here’s every image we took because it was the most memorable time and I just took very few. Also had the privilege to write about the hotel for @highsnobiety all around wonderful way to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and the 60th birthday of our favorite place 💛 As @robertrabensteiner told me, “You have to learn to feel that you’re a lucky man when you go to special places. It is this fantastic gift that I am allowed to go. It’s a gift from God.”
Wrote about a hotel room that means a lot to me @hotelparticuliermontmartre for @yolojournal + contributed images from over the years. Endless to say about Parisian hotels so I went as specific as I could. The issue is really astounding and one of the best print objects you will read this summer. An honor to be a small part of it. Happy birthday my love. Since last March 25th, you’ve created a life and delivered in our living room, recorded an album, toured the world, lobbied at the White House and Capitol Hill, and prepped and rehearsed a headlining tour. You’ve traveled as far as Australia in good spirits always loving our son so patiently, even breastfeeding five minutes before going on stage for arena shows. I’m not sure how you’ve done it and managed to make me laugh more than ever. Jack thinks you’re the funniest person alive and he’s right. You’re so spirited and capable it all ends up feeling natural. It’s been a tremendous amount of effort, more than I even know, and you never once complained to me, which we gave you ample reason to. You’ve given the greatest gift and you are one to both of your boys. We love you.
