SIGNAL in full bloom â what a night it was!
The SIGNAL Brass Festival is in full swing in Gavle, and Thursday evening at Gavle Concert Hall marked another highlight.
On stage was SIGNAL Prize 2024 winner August Schieldrop (
@augustuba ), performing as soloist in Jennifer Higdonâs demanding Tuba Concerto. With remarkable technique, musicality, and presence, he showed why he is considered one of the most promising tubists of his generation. The standing ovations and enthusiastic applause said it all.
Dayner Tafur-Diaz (
@daynertd ) conducted with clarity and precision â from the opening fanfares by Copland and Dukas to the powerful finale of DvoĆĂĄkâs Symphony No. 8.
