This is for anyone thinking about building one themselves. Total cost was around $1200 (and thats cutting some corners), so it could easily be $5k+ with better rigging and higher resolution.
What are some other videos would you like to see about this?
Shoutout to Posy on YT for this idea. I love the simplicity of this effect & how good it works. If you're interested in seeing some really cool examples of this in action I highly recommend his original videos. This works really great both as a straightforward video filter & a utility for detecting motion in a frame, so if you end up using it in a project please tag me!
For years, I've had this set of oblique strategies cards sitting on my desk, and I rarely break them out because I just forget I have them. Now that they're ready at a moments notice in any TouchDesigner file I think I'll be getting a lot more use out of them. Hopefully they'll help you too!

BALLS IN A CUBE!
I had a few key unlocks from this project, primarily on how to get bullet solver info into pops. There's probably better ways to do this now but it was an easy method that was compatible with the system I use to send data to the cube so I'm running with it for now.

Per @junipers_forest , this is Bad Apple on the volumetric display. I used FlavorSaucer's video (shown on top) as inspiration. Each 'slice' represents a frame of the video with an offset, with the closest frame to the viewer being the 'present' frame.
In case you haven't been keeping up on my stories, I've come a long way in a very short time with the Volume. The ideas keep growing by the day so I can't wait to keep doing more regular sketches. This really does feel like we're at the cusp of a very interesting new medium.
i've been putting together this technique and touches designer over the past few days. It blends just the right amount of input for me for control and audio reactivity to create a visual experience that complements the music really well. Definitely going to keep working on this one.

I had a fun time doing todays #genuary prompt, "Lights on/off". I went and saw Phish a few weeks ago and had a great time watching the glovers in the pit so I thought I would try do something similar.
This was my first time using mediapipe (thank you @blankensmithing !) and also my first time using POPs. I'll definitely have to spend some time working on the stability of the hand tracking or maybe even using a Leap sensor for the next iteration.
