Last year I crafted this sculpture without a specific vision in mind, it resulted in a piece that feels both alien and ancient. I love how the glaze enhances the details of the piece, highlighting its textures and distinct features across all four faces.
I couldn't imagine parting with this vase, so I've decided to keep it! Iāve been making ceramics for six years and this is the first time Iām owning one of my pieces š« š

I wanted to share a bit of honesty about what things have been like for me behind the scenes.
Running a small business whilst dealing with PMDD has been difficult. Its been hard to stay creative and consistent when Iām dealing with how I feel mentally and physically each month
Itās not just running a business either. Itās also trying to be present for friends and family, keep up with everyday life and still find the mental space to create
Iām finally trying to be more honest with myself about how much this has been affecting me and focusing on getting the proper support and treatment I need instead of constantly pushing through it.
Iāll be back in September and iām really hoping to come back feeling more like myself again!. Thank you so much to everyone who continues to support my ceramics and show kindness towards my work it truly means everything š¤

A mug with a face, shaped by the same soft earthy tones I keep coming back to š¤
Each element of this mug holds its own meaning. The two pairs of eyes represent community and a shared perspective. The spirals on the cheeks are a nod to transformation and growth. The ear shaped handle is an idea of listening and being present.
I know to a lot of people it might be ājust a mugā but to me it carries a bit more than that.
These face forms are also inspired by vessels across the African diaspora, something that connects back to my Afro-Caribbean roots. It feels great exploring form in a way that feels natural to me āØ

Iāve always wanted to explore stop motion, so Iām finally giving it a go. This stoneware maquette is the beginning of a character for a short story Iām developing, before I attempt to build the final puppet! Iām thinking about documenting the whole process on my YouTube channel, showing the failures as well as the successes. What do you think?

It may have been short lived, but Iāve made friends for a lifetime! Honestly, it was one of the most nerve wracking yet amazing experiences of my life! my emotions were everywhere. And yesā¦ I somehow managed to make the worst thing Iāve ever made on national TV š which I find absolutely hilarious.
The crew, judges, SiobhĆ”n, Princess, and every single contestant were some of the kindest, most compassionate people Iāve ever met.
Most of all, Iāve gained a family for life and discovered that me + time pressure + wheel throwing isā¦ maybe not the best combo šš. Itās been an incredible journey with such amazing people, and Iāll be taking everything Iāve learned forward as I continue to grow as a potter.
