We're looking back at our last club night of 2025, put together with immense love & care. We are immensely grateful to our crew, artists, technicians & the VKM staff for making this happen! Let us also take a minute to remember that the Otto Wagner Areal has historically witness immense violence and crimes against humanities, and our Town Hall with @everythingtmy only scratched the surface of several important conversations that are needed in Vienna to resist historic erasure, artwashing, and lack of accessible alternative spaces. A&A 2025 Feeling endlessly grateful for everyone who was involved in making A&A what it has been, is and will be 🎼 artists, collaborators, drivers, door staff, awareness teams, artist care, bar workers, technicians, photographers, helping hands, friends, supporters and many more ➰ This year has unexpectedly been one of our busiest so far and we don’t regret any second of work that has been put into this project. We want to extend our gratitude to everyone that has been involved in making every show a special experience. None of this would work without the amazing performances and kindness all the artists bring, all the hard work put into A&A by our friends who’ve been helping us making it happen since the beginning and our open minded audiences who take in and deeply engage with the programmes we decide to present. Working with you has been the biggest pleasure and honour. Together we’ve organised an event on the 5th of December, hosting XEXA, James Massiah, Tonica Hunter, Mursal, মm. & Mara Never. Additionally we organised a Town Hall with a keynote by Tayla Myree, discussing the crimes against humanity at Otto Wagner Areal and politics of memorialisation. A follow up on the takeaways from the Town Hall will be shared soon. Spice Mixers + Augend&Addend present: ++++ 🎚️Tonica Hunter (DJ) @tonicahunter ++++ Tonica Hunter (they/she) is a DJ, independent curator and lecturer from north London, based in Vienna since 2014. Working at the intersection of sound, art and applied social justice, their practice has moved fluidly and critically between varied spaces: the club, the classroom and artistic and cultural institutions. Their curatorial and sound work includes collaborations with Ars Electronica, Wellenkænge, University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW), Burgtheater Wien, and the Austrian Museum of Black Entertainment and Black Music to name a few. Spice Mixers + Augend&Addend present: ++++ 🎚️James Massiah (live) @jamesmassiah ++++ James Massiah is a poet & musician from South London, UK whose work explores ideas about sexuality, mortality & hedonism through performance, writing & visual media. His ongoing series of New Poems is released in volumes and details his day-to-day experiences of life, love and labour in London. He has been commissioned to produce work for the BBC and the Guardian as well as featuring in campaigns for Dior, Nike, Lotus and more . He has performed readings of his work at the T ate Modern, the Courtauld, the Institute of Contemporary Arts & the Houses of Parliament & been profiled in Vogue, Dazed, i-D & GQ. He has also curated events for Boiler Room & hosts a monthly show on NTS Radio. XEXA (live) (Lisbon/London) For our final congregation of the year on 5.12 with @augend.addend , please join us in welcoming XEXA @xexarecords , a Portuguese composer, vocalist and sound artist of São Tomé e Príncipe ancestry based in London. ✨✨✨ After her debut LP ‘Vibrações de Prata’ (Príncipe, 2023), XEXA has released her new album ‘Kissom’ this year in September. The @principediscos_verdadeiro affiliate takes Batida to terrains & dreams of Afro-futurism with her brooding meditations and psychedelic tinkering. XEXA graduated in Jewellery from António Arroio, Lisbon and Sonic Arts from Guildhall School Of Music and Drama, London. She has composed music for the British Music Collection, CMMAS, Lagos Art Biennale, Culturgest and ModaLisboa. Her live concerts in Europe have included Berghain Halle, The White Hotel, Nuits Sonores Brussels, Sónar Lisboa, Milan Design Week, Casa del Jazz Roma, Kelman Duran's residency at Cafe Oto, and Primavera Sound Barcelona. In Seoul, last year, she had a three-day residency performing immersed in a transfixional installation at Kia's exhibition “Opposites United: Intersections Beyond Boundaries” at SPACE S1.  In Lisbon, this year, she presented the sound installation ‘Síncopes’ at CAM Gulbenkian, based on a collective creation project with researcher and sociologist Cristina Roldão, and director and actress Zia Soares.
