Victory laurel - 2025 by Dani Kerr and Audrey O’Brien
•
Big collaboration project reveal!!! Last year I was apart of an exhibition with @neukcollective and thanks to that myself and Audrey have been able to work together to make ART!!!
We both felt so welcomed and accommodated by Neuk and the artists apart Neuk. We both agreed it was worth celebrating and a major victory and so we made this laurel to celebrate the accomplishment that we as neurodivergent artists helped create 💚
Each gold leaf’s contains a statement from a Neuk member about how being part of the collective has helped them grow as artists and the work also features other Neuk artist work from the 2024 exhibition
So proud to get to finally share this and thankful for talent and support @audsvisual has brought into my life
Our lil project now lives in the Neuk studios in Edinburgh :3

Audrey O’Brien (she/her) is a socially engaged artist based in Glasgow. The majority of her research-led work sheds light on unheard and untold stories. Through her process of creating a supportive and collaborative space, communities feel safe and inspired, as Audrey’s work fosters a culture of trust, solidarity and creativity. In her solo work, Audrey focuses on the experience of learning skills-based techniques. In this case, the process of a woodcut in relief printmaking.

Remembering Together: Colour & Story Collection
Collaborators: Mhari Baxter and Kath Pierce 2022-2023
Image of coloured squares:
"Everybody's choices have dedicated colours (our “blossoms”) in whatever order for whatever reason. All of the dark colours chosen, all of the light colours chosen. All of them when put together. Mapping out everybody's colours reveals a kaleidoscope that is the beautiful picture. It has difficulty and joy and loss and grief and happiness and discovery; it has all those things in it."
Kath Pierce in conversation with Audrey, reflecting on co-creators choosing colours, Glasgow 2023
Illustration: Mhari Baxter, pen on paper, 2023, yin & yang partnership, positive & negative charge of body & earth's surface. Mhari read the collection as poems which developed into illustrations.
Illustration: Audrey O'Brien, pen & ink on paper, 2023, new time, ancient shape.
About Commission
The process will need to give space to all kinds of experience, from those with connection to people who have lost lives to Covid, those who have lost their lives to other illnesses during the pandemic and all those who have experienced change, loss and isolation in other ways. It may also acknowledge the ways in which citizens continue to support each other. This process will enable collaboration between artists/practitioners and individuals/groups resulting in the co-production of ideas and creative work in response to participants’ interests and experiences. Artists will use their skills in participatory practice to reflect with communities through creative engagement and will document this experience, contributing to a bank of ideas to inform a brief for phase 2 of the project. This engagement with groups will take place with strong safeguarding, data protection policy and risk assessments in place, supported by the partners and greenspace scotland.
Remembering Together project is commissioned by greenspace scotland, Toonspeak and Govanhill Baths with funding from the Scottish Government.
