Sloppy Eldritch ride.
Another quick doodle that i even forgot i made using a double geo track done in Nuke’s GeoTracker with relative motion compensation.

The ride bull was luckily on and rotating for demonstration purposes, so i captured the shot, scanned the bull with Polycam and used that mesh to track its motion in GeoTracker.

Contrary to common beliefs, the iPhone footage has distortions at the edges even with the 48 mm lens, so in order for GeoTracker to work , you have to shoot distortion grids and undistort your iPhone footage. Btw, the software lens distortion correction in the iPhone’s option applies only to the wide camera lens (13mm).

Azathoth is simmed with vellum tetrahedral constraints and his ass is attached to the bull using very stiff attach to geo constraints. Liquid is variable viscosity MPM sim, meshed with regular vdb’s, no fancy neural meshing here, because it was done in 20.5. Wetmap is a baked in cd attribute coming from fluid/ground accumulation with a tiny attenuation factor. Rendered with Octane.

A relatively quick test of the wonderful @omniscient.app (not an ad) and a partial KineFX driven creature + Vellum+ Flip. The real horror beyond human comprehension was trying to maintain flip volume inside this glass. I probably spent 90% of the time doing that and still struggled finding a stable system for it.

There was no tracking done on this scene, thanks to Omniscient and their efficient accelerometer data capture that allows a camera export right from the app, along with a low res depth pass and scanned geo. I already shot a lot of conventionally untrackable shots with it and the camera exports seem to follow accordingly. In minor instances there are geometry shifts between frames, but all in all props to the dev for fixing issues really fast. Will use again.
