This music thing comes with extreme highs and lows, but I’m truly blessed to be nominated for 3 GRAMMYs this year. If you’d told 15-year-old me back in Bessemer, Alabama that I’d one day be an 11x GRAMMY-nominated, 2x-winning producer and mastering engineer I would’ve said, “you smoking good dope.” Still unbelievable to me! And I’m thankful!

Today we’re highlighting @audioanthem ’s recent work mastering @aboogievsartist ’s ‘Part of Me’. A combination of synths and samples open the song walking the line between dreamy and tense. When the kick and vocal drop, the contrast is immediate, lyrically and spatially. The vocal cuts cleanly through, letting every hit — the “We Belong Together” interpolation touches your soul. The nuance in the 808, the texture and tone, are controlled but feel untouched. Dynamically, it’s locked. Balanced. Keeps you moving. Emotional yet composed.
